Not sure why overrun hospitals would need a bailout, but in any event, the people to bail them out would be the ones who got to go back to work.

Just tell the boomers it's another middle eastern military engagement, and we'll find money for it.

You would think securing their childrens' and grandchildrens' futures would be a Boomer priority overall but curiously, no, apparently not.

Under the tail end of the last two Democrat presidents, deficits dropped way off (even had a small surplus under Willy).

Reagan won the cold war. The peace dividend, as we scaled back the military, created that surplus. Slick Willie also had a Republican congress led by Newt Gingrich who forced him into austerity and welfare reform. To his credit, he signed it.

I didn't use a clear word there. I mean if hospitals are overrun, what happens to the excess patients? More field hospitals set up at convention centers, at obscene federal cost?

It took 10 years for us to achieve those savings? And Bush I needing to raise taxes?

Yes, and we don't have Newt or those Republicans in congress these days, sadly.

very misleading numbers. continuing unemployment claims is still very high. very high my friend

Let's not pretend all those unemployed are hurting financially. I just hope they are smart enough to save some of this excess money. That $600 a week will eventually run out.

Two-thirds (68%) of jobless workers would bring home more money from their state unemployment insurance plus the $600 weekly supplement from the federal government than they would have on the job, according to University of Chicago researchers.

In fact, one in every five eligible workers would receive benefits that were double their lost earnings, added the researchers, who emphasized that they weren’t taking a position on whether the temporary benefits were too much or too little.

Isn’t Biden a boomer? What about soros? Boomer. Where are all these boomers causing problems? Sounds like deflecting blame for your lack of success buddy.

Fewer than 10 posts a month for the life of your account and you've honored my lazy snark with one of them.

Thank you.

This may be a money board question but what steps would you take to preserve your wealth if the economy collapses? Will the dollar value inflate like the reichsmark or will the money you have retain its value? I’m not that well versed in economics so I'm not sure.

Yeah very misleading because many are just sitting home drawing that awesome unemployment when companies are looking to hire everywhere. Unemployment would be much lower but why would these leeches go back to work when they are making easy money sitting home. Hopefully Trump doesn’t extend the $600 weekly bonus after July 31 and these POS’s go back to work. Jobs are there but the lazy asses are taking advantage of easy money.

There's many versions of a collapse. Inflation is a concern for sure. If a ton of people lose jobs, prices may collapse, and your buying power might actually go up.

thinking what you're saying is partly true. but also think some jobs are gone for good.

I do think trump will cut back that extra 600 and we will see how it all shakes out
