I'll admit that it didn't happen for me until fall of 2020 so I was a bit of a straggler in the big picture, but I'm relieved to see so many other people now becoming fully aware of the simulation.
As far as I can tell, it goes back at least to the early 1980s but it was certainly being installed in increments as far back as the mid-50s. Almost all of it was scripted. Even Reagan, for how admired he is and the good he accomplished, still forwarded some aspects of the progressive agenda that still hurt this country today.
It was Trump in 2016 that completely broke their playbook and their system, bad enough that the waged all out Lawfare and warfare against him and even unleashed an engineered virus upon humanity to help take him down. For all of Trump's flaws, we should always remember that the Establishment hates him so vehemently that they were willing to sacrifice tens of millions of lives just to get him out of office.

Everyone needs to go outside and touch grass. For the vast majority of us, random strangers having meltdowns on social media about a jeans ad doesn’t impact our lives in any discernible way.

No. But I recognize that if Trump understands anything it's that he can create his own reality. No one believes the government about anything so he can just make up whatever he wants because the truth no longer matters.

I was thinking about that a lot with respect to the Iran bombing, both (a) in the leadup to it and whether we were propagandized into supporting it and (b) the whole info war after the fact over whether it was successful. I think it's a little scary that most of this board automatically trusts Trump in a situation like that and all he has to do is say "fake news" to any criticism. That said, I understand due to Russiagate why a lot of people don't trust the media and intel agencies anymore.

You're right about Iran, and I think Trump is more the effect of this than the cause. Institutional trust declined and social media allowing him to go around the old gatekeepers showed other elites that they can leverage similar tactics to create bespoke realities that people want to live in.
