Shadow fleets have been the only lifelines propping up Venezuela, Iran, and to a lesser extent Russia. Oil from Venezuela keeps Cuba afloat.
This will be the most consequential geopolitical change to the world landscape since the fall of the USSR.
And it’s falling like dominoes with barely a shot fired.
Quite brilliant.

Frig that. There is no way a US corporation should ever go to a International Court if the US corporation has been wronged. That is pretty much admitting the US answers to a higher court.
i'm sure they were exploring all of their legal channels.
and i know it will come as no surprise to you that venezuala hasn't paid it.

Great explanation! This is what I was looking for. Well worth the 50 downvotes I received. I probably could’ve worded it better

These tankers are turning off their transponders or using fake ones in order to conceal their locations/points of origin.
straight out of The Expanse

OP asked a real question. This response is from fantasy land. No one has even suggested that the oil in the tankers was ever owned by a specific US based corporation. Come on, dude, don't be ridiculous.
Well, Venezuela really does have a court ruling against them for $$$$$ for taking the oil from an oil company.

Venezuela nationalized its oil industry by confiscating oil fields and equipment from American companies without just compensation. That’s why the sanctions against Venezuela were levied in the first place.

No one enforces sanctions quite like Trump.
“Pay up or we’ll kidnap you and your wife in the middle of the night and then take your oil tankers and let you find out about it on CNN beitch”

The US has sanctioned some tankers due to them violating the dustup in Iran. Those specific tankers (and others) had violated that. When they tried the same in Venezuela we seized them.
As far as who owns the oil, well whenever we shipped product it was always FOB, the customer owned it at the port. So I would assume the oil is now the property of the US and its up to the rogue customer and shipper to figure out who got a haircut.

We're not "pirating" these tankers. They are in violation of sanctions, and in violation of "international law" (I mention that since it's a big buzzword right now).
Hell, it isn't really even that much of a controversy. The Brits actively helped us on the one yesterday.

I honestly have been busy with sports and have attempted to ignore actual issues in our world.
Yeah, I was right there too a few years back. But 2020 changed everything.
Now, I know exactly what's going on. More importantly, I recognize that we're unequivocally screwed and powerless to fix things, so i began preparing accordingly. Sports is nowhere near my list of priorities any longer.

Citgo was sold recently to satisfy a judgment. Pdsv no longer owns citgo.

Mine either. I’ve actually been reading my Bible more and drawing closer to Jesus. 2020 taught me a lot too. It taught me that I’m just a speck in a large universe and my votes, opinions, and internet rants aren’t going to have much impact on this broken world. People need to hear the truth. The truth is in the Bible. But I usually just get on here to keep up with my Crimson Tide and kill some time. But the latest developments have caught my attention. Had a fairly big Twitter account at one time and only discussed politics and pro Trump stuff, after the thievery I saw in the Biden “win”, I decided to kill that account and take a break. Have a good day brother

I told your mother to keep that between us. Seriously though, I’m not interested in gay sex. Let’s stick to the topic. As for your mother, tell her I’ll be over soon
