What data besides the inverted yield curve?
The most recent data shows productivity and retail sales increasing at a healthy pace in July. Even the yield curve quickly uninverted

Total bull. I work in the industry and yes we see green, but we all show up with our bias everyday. Most guys in my profession are in Manhattan and they are swimming in far left BS. Guess where that pulls them?

That would be the data.
And i am not saying it is the be all end all, but i also think that the threshold for a rule-of-thumb indicator for a recession was met. That is a newsworthy event and i can understand why it is being reported.

I work in the same industry, we do not write research reports based on bias, our clients are trying to make money not be entertained by the news.

I have not had a single research report come across my desk with any specific data pointing to a recession just the "news" pointing toward one. As I said the whole regression to the mean angle.
I don't work on the research side of the house (no longer even allowed to review before published) but the reports I am reading show nothing but rumors, innuendo, etc. Which is bias driven not data driven. If I was still allowed to review I would have the info not backed by data removed.

The average American voter doesn’t know much but they understand how their household, family, jobs, and overall “wellness “ that they day to day. For most it’s better. They will hear these nuts but determine that they must be talking about someone else. This ploy won’t work if the economy stays strong.

Where were you in 2007? Nancy and Chuck were talking down the economy in a manner that should have had them both jailed back then and you see how well that turned out. I refuse to participate in another recession.

There is another side to this story. We have a generation who is not generating wealth and purchasing power. Living in the basement off mommy and daddy does nothing to grow the economy longterm. They went to college and ran up debt on a degree that is worthless. They cannot support a robust economy paying off there school debt.
There is a huge gap coming of wealth earners like me and the economy is going to show it down the road. Living in gubberment housing and drawing a check the 1st does not put our evonomy on strong footing.
