Well you’re a stupid person that doesn’t understand basic economics, so of course you do.
Explain to me how trump printing money, giving it out to people and giving tax breaks didn't lead to inflation. I'll wait to hear it. He's no different than a Democrat when it comes to pandering and giving money. Voting for trump is not a vote for fiscal conservatism and definitely not one that will balance the budget. Hell that options not on the ballot at this point at all.

I don’t agree with responses like these since it’s like admitting “you have a good point and I don’t have a valid response”
It's actually admitting that you don't think he has any idea what he is talking about and you know that you won't change his mind.

You need to tell your "sister in law" that she needs to mind her own business and take relish in the fact that you will cancel her vote by pulling the Trump / Vance handle on election day.

Send him this. Posted in another thread on here.
The wild, wacky world of government statistics, where up is down, price increases are declines, recessions are growth, and health care costs are are down while premiums and copays stay the same.
Biden and this brother in law or yours are out proclaiming we “cured the economy”, and all the while we have been in a recession since 2022, which most common folks know.
But still we are told daily by the likes of this lib yahoo not to believe our lying eyes, or our dwindling bank accounts.
Link to the academic study with supporting facts is in the article linked.

SO are you advocating that we vote for a ultra progressive marxist who will not only add more tax burden to the populace but use unethical policies to redistribute wealth, attempt to violate our second amendment rights and install a clueless administration that is more focused on wokeism than national security??
If so you lose all credibility in my opinion.

Call him gay and laugh at him

Easy.
Tell him if he knows communism or socialism is so wonderful to pack up and move to a country that supports it, you’ll even help pay to help with the moving costs.
Ignoring it encourages him because he thinks he’s making progress getting her to believe that insanity. If you don’t confront it head on you can simply tell them to keep their opinions to themselves on certain subjects.
Yes it’s probably going to cost you family that doesn’t talk to you much anymore because they won’t be able to stop. I can say that in the end it’s better that way.

Looks like he pretty much copied and pasted his talking points from DU (or wherever they put their talking points out for public consumption). He's not 100% wrong though. He did actually get this part right:
The rest of it, however, is leftist lunacy.
Life with leftist in-laws can be frustrating to say the least. Stay strong and just let it roll off your back. No point in getting bent out of shape by it too much since you're not married to him. Just make a point of turning up the volume on the TV for the football games during Thanksgiving to make a point should he start getting into a spastic fit over politics.

Not at all. I don't think I've once advocated anyone vote for Kamala or Biden.
I'm simply pointing out the fellow talking about his economic knowledge is lacking said knowledge.

If you look at economic news u will see that over the past 3 years the economy has continuously outpaced every other country in economic terms post Covid.
According to the IMF's World Economic Outlook, global growth was 2.8% in 2023, and tracking for 3.0% in 2024.

If you look at economic news u will see that over the past 3 years the economy has continuously outpaced every other country in economic terms post Covid. By almost every metric whether it's jobs or Nasdaq and Dow and almost universally speaking all economists think the economy has done better than expected but inflation was really bad after Covid because the gov spent so much money locking us down. Still we've recovered better than all other countries but inflation and interest rates have stymied consumer spending.
(Inflation has at the very least doubled -- probably more)
I say all this because it's important to understand what's going on and what won't help. Conservative trickle down economics where rich people get tax breaks & are supposed to share wealth with middle class peeps is NOT a viable path forward.
(It's been proven to work well for the most part, much better than take it all from the rich and then leave it to Democrats to manage)
We need wage growth and to stop corporations from buying up housing.
(Let the free market handle this, not Democrats -- they've proven time and again they can't)
We need unions and worker protections not right to work states.
(Apply yourself at work and you'll never need a union)
We need national healthcare reform and to spend less on military equipment and private prisons.
(I don't disagree on the private prisons thing but the Democrats are NOT the people you want handling that, go without a strong defense and see what happens, we do need HC reform but again, the Democrats have proven themselves time and again they cannot manage such a thing)

She should ask him why they spent so much money on Green New Deal BS unrelated to Covid Lockdowns that caused even more inflation? Also, if they are going to fix healthcare and stop corporations from buying up houses, why haven't they done it in the last 4 years?

I’m so glad I have Zero leftist Harris voters in my family. We have great holidays with no drama.
My brother’s now mother in law and sisters-in-law are liberal as shite. I used to just leave the room when they open their mouths, but I got really drunk at my brother’s wedding, and they started talking about how evil Trump is at the table and I said “oh frick off” audibly.
I don’t drink anymore but that was certainly a case of drunk man speaks a sober mind being true.

my family has themed holiday parties and had a 4th of July America themed Christmas one year. My cousin brandons family all show up in let's go Brandon shirts. I told him it was amazing how supportive a family he has.
Everyone laughed it was fun. We don't agree on everything political but that doesn't really matter as none of us are politicians.

Kamala’s voting record when it counted was left of Socialist Bernie Sanders. Tell your brother in law he is welcome to show you where socialism has ever worked? It never does and hasn’t ever worked one time.

While I agree we have left any fiscal conservative philosophy behind Kamala is a full blown socialist by her own past voting record and comments. If we have any chance of ever recovering going down the socialist route won’t work.
