That’s the dumbest shite I’ve heard in a while. We can’t build any wealth. We are just working and paying bills.
It's not my problem you're uncomfortable with reality.

The home your parents could afford in their 20's is not a $400K home today.
No, because the neighborhood has declined to the point that absolutely no one outside of section 8 crowd will willingly live there
The fruits of diversity and its effect on what used to be mid tier neighborhoods cannot be understated, IMO.
People tell me that once upon a time the 9th ward was a good place to live, after all.

First time home is 400k?

Why do you think Blackrock is buying up so much real estate?

Hahahahahaha the benefits my dad got from his 6 figure no college degree job at Norfolk Southern were outrageous. I remember when I was 12 I had to have my appendix out and my parents had to pay like $14.00 out of pocket.
They also have great retirement and he got like 4 or 5 weeks vacation per year toward the end after he had been there 20 years. mIlenNials WanT tOo mAnY bEnEfitS.

I don't think they want too many benefits. Who doesn't want every benefit they can get?
I think millennials are economically illiterate and lack self-awareness.

Buy a fixer upper. That was my first house. Fixed it up, sold it 5 years later, got a 40% gain.

Went back and looked. Bought my first house in 2005 in Baton Rouge for $189K. Sold it in 2008 for $225K. The Zillow estimate on the home today is $315K. 1700 sq ft.

I (a stupid lazy entitled 35 yr old millenial) built my house 3 years ago cost me $210k to build. Zillow is showing over $350k now.

In some ways, yes.
But in terms of starting a family, absolutely not.

What year was this?
Flippable houses have been pretty much snapped up for the last 10 years.

What does dramatically lower sperm counts and testosterone levels of millennials/Gen-Zs compared to Gen-X/Boomers have to do with home prices?
Honest question - what makes starting a family so much harder today versus 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 years ago?

The audacity of those millennials to value 401k’s and health insurance.

Typical. You can’t explain your opinion, so go with the BS.

The problem isn’t usually the monthly payment. The problem is accumulating the down payment when rent is usually at a higher rate than a down payment.

Yeah.it’s a double whammy.

You are not a serious person. That much is obvious.
