He linked to what he is against.
Zero dollars mentioned. So they did not add spending.
Why don't you read it and tell us the evil in it that would cause Massie to vote against cuts in spending!

So passing bills within bills should be the new norm?
It’s been the norm since at least the 80s.

Arguing over pennies.
Did the bill pass?

Only $1,890,600,000,000.00 left to go to balance the budget!

So passing a bill w/in a bill is a good idea now? Also, doesn't this bill add tons more to the debt? There are no cuts
It cuts something like a trillion dollars from Medicaid and Social Security waste and fraud.
The ONLY spending increases are the border (which I agree $90 billion for a wall and deportation prisons is probably a bit high), military (funding for troops, replacing all of the munitions we gave to Ukraine, and some nuclear and Coast Guard shite), $20 billion for a school voucher program, and around $14 billion for the Trump 401k For Babies program.
The “moar debt” thing you retards have been melting about is strictly the CBO juking the stats by claiming that NOT RAISING TAXES adds a zillion dollars to the debt over 10 years, all hypothetial. If you stick to actual spending of actual dollars, this bill cuts spending by $1.7 trillion.
quote:
Why aren't Republicans getting on board w/ actual cuts.
Most of them are, see above, the $1.7 trillion the BBB cuts. The only Republicans opposed to these cuts seem to be Rand Paul and Thomas Massie.
quote:
also, about the border; If Republicans cared so much about the border, why in the hell isn't this just a single issue bill? Even some Dems would be forced to vote for it.
You need 60 votes to pass a bill in Congress. There are not 6 Democrats who will approve a stand alone bill to secure the border. Hence the CR.

Massie asked Musk to fund candidates running against MAGA in the next election. Massie doesn't have to hide it anymore.

I read his words. They are missing the important part about what the change is. If it was something important, Massie should have mentioned it. If it was something conservatives would hate, he could have used that to rally them around him. Isn't that what a real leader would do?
Instead he chose to be vague and complain about the bill changing without specifying the changes or why they are bad. He just wants you to be upset because he is upset, and if he listed the explicit changes, people would realize how ridiculous his argument is.
Sneaky!

Yep. At this point, it's become clear that Massie is against anything that would be considered a win for Trump. He would rather side with Democrats on everything, than move us one inch closer to MAGA.

Democrats need to go ahead and pre-vote unanimous NO on everything here on out.

It ties the BBB to the recissions. And changes the language of the BBB.
Why didn’t they do that as a separate bill? Would’ve taken 5 minutes. I know why. Do you?

He introduced a very simple single issue bill. “Ending the Department of Education.” Have you seen Mike Johnson working on that one?
That is a deflection.
I asked about a single issue bill for DOGE cuts.

While his "principled " stance may help his personal opinion of himself, it's a hindrance to Trump's efforts to change the direction of this nation.
How does maintaining $2 trillion deficits, checks notes, “change the direction of this country”?
The larger cuts are maintained so that doesn’t “change the direction of the country”.
I mean, if we are hanging our hat on “no tax on tips and OT” as changing the direction of the country, I am at a loss.
Sounds to me like it’s more of the same with some features that I find more apppealing than the other administration.

If Republicans were really serious about spending, the border, or whatever else they pretend to support, they'd do single issue bills.
Makes the most sense. And for that reason, fugetaboutit.
Singular constructive spending or border focused bills mean they can actually be read even by lazy CongressMercs before passage. And followed up by the average person. However, #NotGoodForBusine$$
Bundling spending of hundreds of billions in pork, MIC and laundering can easily be embedded in one Big Beautiful Bill of Baloney.

It succeeds further demolishing middle-class wealth and in moving this corporate-owned & run "country" more toward a socialist-communist One World governance.
MAGA won't and can't see the forest for the trees.
