On "The Daily Show" Monday night, the liberal comic told self-described democratic socialist Bernie Sanders that Trump is carrying out the Vermont senator's "revolution."

"You could almost make a case that the true inheritor of the Sanders revolution is Trump," Stewart said.

"He is the most socialist president of my lifetime."

"Taking a percentage of companies to do business? That's a Bernie Sanders idea. Doing TrumpRx where the government is involved in selling pharmaceuticals? That's a Bernie Sanders idea."

I can't be the only one entertained by how deeply this board is triggered by what they are calling a "loser."

There is no republican who could run for president that isn't an Israel cheerleader. Trump especially.

But don't pretend that the real animus toward Massie isn't because he doesn't kiss the wall. I'll call that out all day.

As James Lindsay referred to these types of people. "They are a lake a 100 miles wide but only an inch deep" They look intimidating until you realize there is no depth there.

It is amazing that you think true Libertarians follow a national party and platform that speaks for all of them. That alone would break a core tenant of Libertarianism which is individualism!

Step away from team politics for a moment. I know more than a few people who say they are more libertarian than republican because of the way the Republican Party has operated. I can bet those same people would read the platform you just posted and say "...yeah I'm more conservative than that". You don't have to align 100% with what a party defines itself as. I would say if you do then congratulations you are a useful and controllable tool to them. And if that's what you want - to allow others to form your stances on issues and speak for you then more power to you. But to those of us who choose to form our own opinions you look no different than those on the left.

I'm not down with the points made about anarchy or open borders. You and I are in agreement.

But I do have the following to comment on:

quote:

They talk about WORLD not USA

and? "America First" =/= "America Only". Do you really think it is impossible to be America first and also hope that the world frees itself from tyranny?

quote:

That says if a guy wants to act like a girl and the organization decide to allow IT to compete against girls.... That's his right.

That is not at all what it says. That is an incredible leap to make. You are reading what you want it to say rather than what it actually says which is "....so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose." You also don't even realize what you are typing. "... and the organization decides to allow IT to compete against girls..." that my friend is an organization forcing something onto unwilling participants which is against the statement you were quoting says and the statements that you quote later in the post say.

quote:

Conservatives believe in limited Gov as laid out in the Constitution

Conservatives haven't exactly lived up to their end of the bargain. For recent examples please see the bill being discussed in this thread.

Leaked Documents Outline DHS’s Plans to Police Disinformation

The Department of Homeland Security is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous, an investigation by The Intercept has found. Years of internal DHS memos, emails, and documents — obtained via leaks and an ongoing lawsuit, as well as public documents — illustrate an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms.

The work, much of which remains unknown to the American public, came into clearer view earlier this year when DHS announced a new “Disinformation Governance Board”: a panel designed to police misinformation (false information spread unintentionally), disinformation (false information spread intentionally), and malinformation (factual information shared, typically out of context, with harmful intent) that allegedly threatens U.S. interests.

While the board was widely ridiculed, immediately scaled back, and then shut down within a few months, other initiatives are underway as DHS pivots to monitoring social media now that its original mandate — the war on terror — has been wound down.

Excellent find. Always read the fine print

Only someone like Thomas Massie would suss out the hidden BS -- like technocratic AI Data harvesting, gubmint-propaganda and rabid censorship of truth embedded in this latest spending bill. This is pathetic. Freedom of speech and ability to share truth is directly affected. The US is become the EU and Canada -- albeit, delayed.

I am stunned that so many are still immediately smashing the Pavlovian Bell on the Aipac-Levin-Trump neocon bandwagon of hate for Massie -- regardless of what he does or doesn't do. *smh*

The reason for the Massie hate is because he's not a Trump dick rider like they are.

Interesting. So if a bill fully funding ICE also had a rider legalizing child rape, you good?

How about Congressional leaders, with the help of President Trump, start demanding stand alone bills?

He shoukd switch to the Dems since he hates Trump so much and votes within anyway. What’s the point of being GOP if you’re against everything.
