Bring the 3rd world here and then wonder why it looks like the 3rd world in some cities

Muslim call to prayer is 5 times a day, with one in the dark hours of the morning. At a minimum, this will be a nuisance. Haven't had church bells going off that early.
Prayers over a loudspeaker in the wee hours should be a nuisance but no way are they shut down in Minneapolis.
Church bells don’t ring at crazy hours and I’ve never heard them on a loudspeaker.

[quote]since Columbus discovered America[/quote
Except Columbus didn't discover America. Leif Erikson was the first European to discover the Americas around 1000-1001 A.D. and Amerigo Vespucci got the continents named after him because he actually knew where he was...unlike Columbus who thought he was in East maybe China or India.
But I don't disagree about the muslims.

I'm conflicted. As a Muslim myself, I don't mind hearing the 'call to prayer' but.. why force something you know the community may be against because of their misunderstanding of Islam?
The purpose of the call to prayer is so that the Muslim community hears it and comes to pray. but this is usually confined to Muslim majority communities. What is the % of the Minneapolis community are Muslim? I am guessing not much.
I know of a southern town where the few Muslims who lived there wanted to do the Friday sermon on the campus of their local community college every single Friday, beside the dorm, since they did not have a Mosque.. They were rejected and not allowed. Till this day some of them talk about how they were "targeted"...etc.
No? You can't just go onto a college ground and start having a sermon gathering.
I am a level headed Muslim.
Instead of trying to force being accepted, maybe spread awareness about Islam, clear up the misunderstandings and misrepresentation by extremists who have hijacked it.

All the churches there should blast out "Amazing Grace" on a set of bagpipes for the entire time the Muslim call to prayer is occurring, each and every time, 4 times/day.

Never understood how Somali's from Africa ended up in a cold arse place like Minneapolis.

You can thank Obama for concentrating so many of them there. Now you have the likes of Ilhan Omar in Congress.

There is a huge Somali population in Minneapolis. Not Muslim, but I actually really like the call to prayer. I find it beautiful and soothing.
With that said. It probably shouldn’t be disrupting a community. If the community is against it, The mosque should be decent neighbors and find an alternative.

I’ve spent time in the Middle East.
This is not very informative. I mean, did you stay on your plane as it refueled in Tehran, or did you spend a weekend in Dubai, or have you actually traveled extensively?
On another note, comparing bells ringing to Islamic calls to prayer is moronic.
Your false equivalency is...false.

They should be able to. Follow local sound ordinances and move on

Knowing Muslims that’s probably not the only thing they will be blasting.

To be fair the church near me blasts hymns through their belltower

Yeah, that's a 1st Amendment violation and can legally be challenged on the basis of government endorsement of religion.
1. Laws don't matter.
2. No standing.

No it’s not. It’s comparable to allowing churches to ring their bells

No it isn't.

government endorsement of religion
It's not government endorsement of religion. It simply reinforces rights they has from the getgo.

The one bright spot from all this is the left wingers who are tripping over each other to defend the muslims just to own the cons will be the first ones the muslims toss from the rooftops.
I'll be laughing when they do

But Christians... be quiet right.
NO PRAYERS for you!
What does this mean? Churches have been doing this for centuries with church bells. If you don't like it, get out there and win those muslims to Christ.
