Exactly, some are pretty high tech warming boxes, basically an incubator, that will set off an alarm inside the building that a baby has been placed inside.

Or of course, one can physically hand over the baby to a firefighter or whoever is working at the facility. Or ring a doorbell, set off a fire alarm, hell anything but leaving a newborn in the snow.

Of course not. As imjustafatkid stated above, you have to have the common sense NOT to just drop the child off in the snow at 3am!

I don't think anyone is implying the policy itself killed the child. Clearly the person who dropped the kid off didn't do it properly.

does Chicago have one of those drop off the baby, no questions asked policies?

Pretty much every state does.

I'm wondering if this policy got this kid killed.

How does one reach that conclusion?

Assuming that this was a legitimate drop off attempt

Leaving it in a duffel bag and exposed to the elements completely negates that assumption.

Abortion is legal in Illinois, i thought this stopped these sorts of things.

I guess not.

You might be underestimating how many really stupid people there are in this world.

Court t.v. has been showing a sequence of a young girl driving up to a dumpster, getting out the vehicle, reaching in the back seat for a plastic bag and throwing it into the dumpster as anyone would do to get rid of unwanted trash.

Only this plastic bag contained her newborn. But that boy child survived.

She's on tape, so it's just a matter of time for her.

Exactly. My question was did the policy set up a scenario where someone would try and do a drop off, but wound up botching it.

Now if the policy didn't exist, we could have wound up with the same result. Or, maybe the mom would have felt no option but to keep it. We will never know.

Well we know from the dems that certain groups are to dumb to get ID’s …

Perhaps the law makers that didn’t thoroughly allow for stupidity should be charged?

Here’s another heartbreaker, of a 6 yo boy found dead, broke a few days ago, don’t look unless you want to be depressed

The 6-year-old boy died of hypothermia after being held under an ice cold shower:

From another article:

quote:

The boy's mother and two of his siblings allegedly killed him on his birthday, Dec. 30, at an abandoned home after they developed a plan to punish him for something he'd done the day before, according to prosecutors.

"He was placed into a cold shower for an extended period of time, held there by family members at the direction of the mother," Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart said. "We believe the mother may have been involved also, and at some point, he became unresponsive, vomited and died."
