Not part of his “current” plan. I don’t see how an acceptable regime change happens without ground troops in some capacity. The power vacuum we’re creating there is going to be taken advantage of by terror groups unless we supervise the change on the ground, and we all know how that will unfold.
I say we save money, time, and American lives by just bombing the hell out of them, tell them to do what they can to take over their own country, and if the terrorists take it again and start their shite again, we bomb then another time in the future. No ground troops, but I don’t see how Trump’s goal is accomplished without them.

Correct. That's the problem with regime change, especially in the ME.

This “Special Military Operation” better not turn into a full blown war.

let one air crew go down. Then a USAF PJ team, Delta or Devgru unit will be on the ground. TRAP teams may already have been or be in strategic areas for prompt SAR.

Special forces are generally not considered as “boots on the ground”.
ETA them robot dogs with laser beam eyes wouldn’t be boots on the ground either.

“Key word there is current “
Have you ever heard of the term contingency plan? It meaning exemplifies that it evokes a current plan

Gumbo and the other idiots like sfp will be so disappointed. They thought they had him THIS TIME.

Trump is a goddamn idiot if he thinks a successful regime change can occur without ground troop deployment.
The IRGC has anywhere between 150,000 and 200,000 soldiers. Missile strikes alone won’t eliminate an enemy force of that size. You’d need a ground campaign deployment of at least 50 brigade combat teams from the Army and 30-40 marine expeditionary brigade teams from the USMC.
