Well it would seem the cost of a nursing degree will soon go down.
Bingo! They panicans are too stupid to understand this.

my grandma was a nurse with no schooling. how about lets cut all the bullshite courses the universities make you take and let the people going into nursing take only the essential courses needed for nursing. actually let do that for all majors.
Why does a nurse need to understand advanced algebra any more than a lawyer needs to understand the basics of underwater welding?
The only actual required subjects that I believe ALL people should be taught are civics and US history- and those should be taught during K12 education. Ironically, it has become status quo to focus minimally on these subjects.

My wife got a degree from a 2 year community college. I’d say she’s better than any nurse I’ve met who I knew had a 4 year degree. She did it at a fraction of the cost and made the same money.
Yeah she's an RN and I'm sure she makes good money.... Her problem is she's stuck where she is with no way to advance. She needs her BSN to advance in any particular nursing field.
My wife was the same way till she got her BSN from ULL, and she just received her masters in Hospital Administration from LSUS.

Nurses are fricking stupid and insufferable.
If you ever have to some time in the hospital, your opinion may change. Nurses are some of my favorite people.

Good.
Too many schools relying on student loans and giving MSNs and DNPs to bad nurses who then become bad nurse practitioners.

Omit the word 'dedicated" then that is a description of 90% of Federal Employees.

You just proved that you are describing some "Ranters". Look in the mirror.

Fortunate for you, looks like you've never been in a hospital....
and you better hope you never have to be...

Professionalism is more about behavior than something that's been bestowed upon you. I've known plenty of blue collar tradesmen who were extremely professional; I've also met plenty of people with multiple degrees who were very UNprofessional.
I used to work in the medical software field and this sounds more like the age old "nurses pissed off that they're not doctors" shtick.

I don't agree with this insofar as programs like CRNA are affected. (You now have to have a doctorate level to go, plus 2 years of critical care experience.) To say that isn't a professional degree is completely nuts. Congress needs to fix this.

All this has to do with is student loan maximums
It actually helps nurses by forcing nursing schools to keep costs affordable. The more student loan money available the more they will charge.

I think that was a bit of mockery of his, especially since men can be women in his eyes

I spent a lot of time inpatient and outpatient with my cancer treatments and eventual lung transplant. I'd have to learn the computer system for inputs but the basic tasks of a nurse I could do at this point with zero schooling on my part.

What it boils down to is that professional degrees will have higher loan caps than non-professional degrees. With nursing considered a non-professional degree, despite the fact that there are master's-level programs for nursing and nurse practitioners, they will be subject to loan caps for non-professional degrees, which are significantly lower.
Good.
People should not have to pay $100,000-$150,000 for a degree that qualifies you for a job that only pays $80,000-$100,000 annually.

No doubt but assuming nurses are "women" is pretty damn sexist.

They aren't professionals. Their training does not require a bachelor's degree prior.
There are many levels and classifications. Some require only a 2-year degree, some require masters, some require a doctorate. I would consider CRNA and NP to be professionals. Even a BSN requires a bachelors.
I would definitely consider engineers who are PE to be professionals.

It’s not a professional degree. It’s a highly skilled profession but it isn’t a professional career.

Only works as an analogy if the end goal of tariffs is the immediate reduction of price points … which it isn’t.
