You love illegals and let them roam the streets.
This statement relieves me of having to expend any effort in rebutting your post.

Surprise, surprise. Real ID is useless as expected. I carry a passport card as well, so I should be good. In addition, I'm extremely unlikely to get profiled as a possible illegal immigrant.
That being said, I despise the idea of American citizens having to show papers in that fashion, but if you are a Hispanic citizen hanging out with a bunch of illegals, you can't really be surprised when you get temporarily nabbed.
If I was a fricking idiot hanging out in a crack house, I certainly wouldn't be shocked if I got detained until they determined I was clean. I wouldn't like it, but I would expect it.

How would anyone know that the citizen is “ hanging out with a bunch of illegals” at first glance?

Are you serious? Being around people who appear to be Latino is equivalent to being “a fricking idiot hanging out in a crack house”?

What is emotional about asking someone who claims to have been impacted by illegal immigration to say how he’s been impacted?
Asking for evidence is emotional if a woman does it?
No, it's a silly diversion because one doesn't have to be affected by illegal immigration on an individual level to feel the effects of it. It's the same as when SDV starts a thread asking how you've *personally* been affected by tariffs. I don't need a negative encounter with illegals to prove that it's a problem.
quote:
Federal agents are having a much greater tangible negative impact on my life than illegal immigrants have.
Again, the comparison doesn't matter because we don't have to make decisions in a binary. Illegal immigration is harmful. Feds unlawfully detaining citizens is harmful. We don't have to rank them. Neither is acceptable.

fact that a real ID is not sufficient to verify immigration status
Anyone who has gotten one knows how easy it is to simply hand over fake documents to the DMV worker and get one.

I'm not one to rage about the tariffs, as useless as I think they'll ultimately be
But it's not that hard to find people directly impacted

If you are Hispanic and working on a job site full of illegal Hispanics, should it really shock you that ICE will detain you longer to verify you are a US citizen?
That doesn’t make it okay. And how do we know of someone’s legal status without having any known warrants signed by a judge?
Posted on 12/12/25 at 10:36 am to stout
Innocent people are arrested and detained every single day in every country on Earth.
Not ideal, but this is not something new - or even newsworthy.

So cops raid a night club suspected of serving under aged drinkers, they can only check on the patrons they know are under aged?

I also support the rights of every single United States citizen.
But you will only post the story if it's a non white being temporarily detained? Or do you think whites aren't wrongfully detained for one reason or another every single day?
shite happens to everyone, and mistakes are human. I can't possibly care more for a random Mexican or Somali than I do for a random white person who is inconvenienced by the law. It's absurd to suggest anyone should.

Hundreds of innocent people are arrested and detained every single day, and have been for decades and perhaps centuries.
However, proving your citizenship is easy and these people are released in a short period of time. Many innocent people have to prove their innocence in court, which is much harder.
Why are we freaking out over someone being inconvenienced?

Because it's part of a narrative to end mass deportation. The people making normal course of business stuff into an existential crisis don't actually want these peoppe deported. It's just the rheotrical device they use. "I want illegals deported, but..." said everyone who wants illegals in this country forever.

thank you for the compliment.

And you think you should have to produce your identification to satisfy the whims of a peer? This is insane.
nope - only if some official asks for it and I am obliged to produce it. And even if I KNOW the official is mistaken (traffic violation) do not understand the premise for this allegation.
BUT - I find no problem with producing the ID because I have better things to do with my time than thumbing my nose at authority figures - you may get some perverse pleasure from doing that, but to me it is a waste of time.
If some stranger asked for it, I'd probably ignore him.
quote:
specifically how have you been personally impacted by illegal immigration?
I have had to suffer the idiotic debates in congress and TD of idiots who think they are smart enough to offer a logical argument in support of illegal aliens violating our immigration laws.
I have also suffered the effects of all the outlandish laws these representatives have inflicted. I suffered thru the Biden presidency - the most idiotic period of time in American history.
quote:
You’re falling for outrage bait and fear mongering
I monitor the news and try to understand the impacts of various proposals from both sides of the aisle - and react using standard logic based on facts and truth and personal integrity = you should try that.
quote:
Life is too short to spend all day pissed off at who people on TV and social media instruct you to be mad at.
I like to understand the logic behind those who I think are doing harm to my nation - my greatgrandsons have to survive in that environment and I want to protect them from the egregious future you plan for them.
Nobody 'instructs' me to do anything - other than my wife.
You really have never produced a valid argument either for or against any issue discussed here.
I have no idea what you think you are achieving.

This is the exact argument Dems use when it comes to gun laws. What's a waiting period, extra background checks, some more forms, etc. when lives are at stake? It's just a little inconvenience, no one is having their 2nd amendment rights violated. Hell, we should probably have police start detaining people for open carrying. Who's to say they own that gun legally?
