Horrible act, but aren't christians asked to forgive? That religion and the exceptionalism some of its members displays confuses me

She isn't praising him for being a student. She isn't defending a terrorist. She is trying to shed light on the fact that he was messed up in the head so bad that he felt the need to shoot people. She is pointing out that his world was fricked up, and that in her opinion, it is sad that he was pushed to the point that he went off and started shooting at people. All the #blacklivesmatter stuff is just racist though. I really don't see it any other way.

She should also have been smarter than this and realized that maybe waiting a few days until the emotional reaction calmed down before posting something like this would have been a good idea.

You think it was mental illness that drove him to do what he did?

Do you have any information supporting that?

No, I was interpreting the tweet by the professor. That's how I read what she is saying. I believe she is making that claim. I'm not here to say what the shooter was thinking. Just to interpret what I think the professor was trying to say.

She went beyond forgiving and was borderline promoting him as a martyr.

I think people realize that and that's why they are criticizing her.

Granting "forgiveness" to someone who did nothing to her and who presumably never asked anyone to forgive him? Which tenant of Christianity implores one to do that?

Same one that implored Jesus to forgive a bunch of people who never did anything to Him

Nope that's not even a proper theological telling of what "Jesus did."

What she's doing is a hollow gesture at best. Not necessarily bad, but nothing particularly "Christian." If 13yearvet kicks YOU in the nuts and then gets run over by a bus, there's nothing really "Christian" or otherwise meaningful about me saying, "well I forgive him for what he did."

Are you just an idiot or a complete idiot. Before you defend that dumb bitch with your sanctimonious progressive BS, how about do a little research first. If you had, you would not be so fricking stupid as to refer to the criminal as "the shooter." He did not shoot anyone you blithering idiot.
