Yes. I could not foresee that Mueller would go after anyone for anything, even with absolutely zero connection to Russia.
Mueller's mandate was to investigate:
any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation;
You should have read the initial Rosenstein letter.

This has the same timbre as the day that the webs got geeked up about Higgs Boson, the god particle.
I remember seeing all the posts about "religious idiots" and having to apologize for centuries of the Bible, yada, yada

Yep. I guess I just figured the Russia stuff would be the priority. Again...I thought Mueller would be impartial. When the evidence started pointing left he had to go after the ancillary stuff. Sad.

Bad bet, bruh.
Everyone should have known at least two perjury trap convictions were coming out of it.

Yeah the fact that he gave this over to SDNY prosecutors makes your statement silly.

Fox News: Cohen deal includes 3-5 years in prison.

So the stock market still hasn’t budged even after we found out what he is leading guilty to.
Stock market has been fairly reliable in judging how high the implications of a story go
Investors at this hour don’t seem too spooked

And manaforts financial crimes for work done with the podestas? What does that have to do with Russia? Like I said....ancillary. I couldn’t see it coming.

.I thought Mueller would be impartial.
He has always been a train wreck when it came to prosecuting high-profile crimes, from the Atlanta Olympics bombing to the anthrax-in-the-mail terrorist case.
Mueller wants publicity much more than he wants justice.

quote:everything said so far about that indicates that Cohen did that by himself, so he committed a campaign finance violation, not the campaign. Also, would you say this is a bigger deal or smaller deal than funneling 100 million dollars of state level democratic party funds directly through the DNC to Hillary's campaign to get around the individual donor restrictions? Just want to get a gauge on what you think a big deal means
This would be DOJ confirming that a campaign finance violation was committed by Trump's team to sway an election. Not a small thing.

That would surprise me if it’s just campaign finance. Seems high for his crime. I’m guessing some fraud/etc. is thrown in there.

shouldn't have tried to defraud NY with a taxi medallion scam. No pity here

You do understand that the SDNY has no authority to investigate Trump, right? I mean, you get that this has no bearing on anything Trump?

We don't know when Trump knew about these payments. He's already lied once about when he knew about the payments.

He's literally pleading guilty for campaign finance crimes involving paying off women who slept with Trump.
I guess for you truth really isn't truth.
