That would surprise me if it’s just campaign finance. Seems high for his crime. I’m guessing some fraud/etc. is thrown in there.

Yeah, reporting says it includes bank and tax fraud.

I guess for you truth really isn't truth.

Bill & Hillary have BOTH had multiple people plead guilty for campaign violations and witness tampering

Guess what?

Which is why he's going to jail, but the media will focus on the campaign finance stuff.

Yes there is 0 way campaign finance rule breaking would get you 3 years in jail

Usually people who break campaign finance rules just pay fines

I think Bush campaign had to pay like a million dollars

President Obama paid almost a half million in 2008.

Was never a big deal

John Edwards was tried, but the payment on his behalf was made about 10 months before an election. This one though all happened weeks prior to an election and the new stories about Cohen's decision to do this after the Access Hollywood Tape would look bad to a jury.

Exactly

Because the SDNY isn't after Trump. So the campaign stuff is insignificant.

OR IT WOULD BE MULLER FILLING CHARGES TODAY, right?

Edwards was acquitted. And he directly solicited $1 million in campaign contributions to pay off his mistress.

Worth reminding folks, Michael Cohen also served as Deputy Finance Chairman for the RNC. And, he's about to plead guilty to campaign finance crimes.

What does paying off women have anything to do with campaign finance? Pretty sure that’s not getting anybody 5 years in prison.

Right and right. My point is that these kinds of cases can and do go to trial. The Edwards' prosecution had a hard time proving that the payoffs were meant to influence an election and not just to keep it out of the press, away from his wife, etc.

Yep. And it should give you a hint as to how this is not a big deal at all. You are getting yourself all worked up. Slow down, tiger.
