Before you lose respect, please learn how to read.

There was also a complete rejection of natural immunity that was uncalled for.

I agree. Natural immunity was real and should have been respected more. Where public health dropped the ball was in acting like it was an either/or choice. A better approach for the next pandemic would be to acknowledge both (e.g. “yes, recovery gives protection, but vaccines are the safer and more consistent way to get there”. That way people feel their personal experience is recognized, while still hearing why vaccination matters.

If the Fulton County study were the smoking gun, almost 25 years later we’d all be living in a very different medical reality
quote:People are looking at multiple things in this situation, not just one thing. But you knew that, didn't you?
The MMR-autism link has been tested so many times that if it were real, it would’ve shown up like a neon sign
quote:If you knew why he brought it up, you would know why it's important that he keep bringing it up
what we’ve got is a story that keeps getting recycled long after the fields have moved on
quote:Is it possible, hear me out, that multiple things are possibly involved, not just one thing?
And look what he actually does when science is published that he disagrees with - he just asked a journal to retract a study that said aluminum adjuvants in vaccines were safe
quote:Again, he's raising questions and some people are trying to stifle those questions
He's a vaccine opponent
quote:Yeah, how dare he question people who have been proven to lie over and over.
not a science advocate

The main reason for mandates is for people too sick to be able to be vaccinated. Like this kid with leukemia, who was able to go to school like other kids because his classmates were vaccinated
You are scary

You're a weirdo. We've had mandatory vaccination in this country back to the 19th century.

Great. Then emphasis on a multi-factorial etiology should make us look at more robust evidence.

Yeah, how dare he question people who have been proven to lie over and over.
RFK has a long history of lying too. I’m sure you knew that though.

quote:Asking questions is doing no such thing. We're having discussions now that are so incredibly important. That's the value of RFK. Any truly scientific person should welcome such discourse. All true science will suffer none because of it and no person who knows such truth should shrink from it at all because they should welcome the opportunity to be vindicated yet again.
Even if he doesn't win it, he can drive down public confidence
Have you ever watched Sabine Hossenfelder or Curt Jaimungal or Eric Weinstein? You should.

He's HHS secretary. He's not just asking questions anymore. He has actual responsibility for US public health.

quote:Strawman. I don't know of anyone who is saying they intentionally increased autism, but they certainly don't want to be questioned and you are a willing dupe
If this was really a pharma plot, it’d be the worst business plan in history. There aren’t any drugs that treat autism directly, and no pill pipeline waiting to cash in
quote:post hoc, ergo propter hoc
The rise in autism diagnoses is real, but it’s mostly explained by changes in criteria, awareness, and services

when lies and cherry picked facts are all the maha movement brings I'm not sure how you expect people to react. Most here making accusations can't back up any of it. Hell RFK can't back any of it up with studies or facts.

It's not post hoc ergo propter hoc unless you actually make arguments why their controls were poor...

If MAHA could join forces with with others to pump them up with good messaging a bit
Again, if you truly are a physician, that is horrifying

Public health officials don't just set policy, they get scientific guidance and also persuade the public to follow the policy.

The inverse of this is forcing people to get an illness against their will. That is fricked up in its own right.
The idea that something might not be beneficial for one group but beneficial for the population as a whole is one of the very basic aspects of mammalian immune systems. Why you morons cannot understand that is beyond me.

Technically, the purview of science communication isn’t really the expertise of academic scientists. But the fundamentals of it are the same as they are for classical rhetoric.

They thought it was a droplet-borne disease because of other coronaviruses we'd seen before and masks do work

super-dumb, baw. Masks don't have to stop every particle. They just have to stop a sufficient infectious dose.
