Expressing an opinion on an issue means someone is running?

I like Vance alot. That said, there should be no automatic field clearing. He’s not the incumbent President.

Plus DeSantis has been a really good Governor.

They or any other GOP candidate should have to earn the nomination.

Why would he not run? He won’t win but this time would be a lot easier than running against Trump. His biggest miscalculation was he thought he could beat Trump when he had no chance.

We do primaries in this country. At least the GOP does. I want to vote for the candidate I like.

I'm blind with it as long as everyone gets behind the candidate that beats theirs

Ron is a dinosaur. He would have been against the invention of the car and the cotton gin, too. Had he been around during that time.

Well, you've had the Federal government, primarily members of the Republican party, repeatedly attempting to circumvent state's rights by slipping in wide-ranging AI policy that would effectively keep the state's hands tied in regards to any AI policy for at least a decade. Those actors have attempted at least twice to quietly, under the cover of darkness essentially, slip legislation into their omnibus bill and their continuing resolution against the wishes of most of the states in the country. Not only would that legislation have completely neutered the states, but it would have rolled back most Federal AI regulations.

If it is the best for the country, why is it so damn shady and why are the "good guys" trying to backdoor so much shite and handcuff any recourse against it for a decade? You're giving a lot of trust to a pile of distrustful people if you support these maneuvers.

I absolutely love Desantis's style and competent governance, but setting up to showdown against JD is a dumb move. Ted Cruz never got past the end of his nose with Presidential aspirations because he has the charisma and personality of a loaf of bread. Ron is similar in many ways.

JD will wipe the floor with him. Vance understands and has fully embraced the power of the internet and memes to reach younger voters. When Ron tries to step out of his spectral comfort zone, it comes across as very awkward.

I'm not shitting on Ron either, I think he'd be a great US President. He's an absolute machine of competent governance. But unfortunately those aren't the qualities he needs to possess to win a Presidential election. Times have changed.

They'll either get behind Vance, or he'll decline to run and they'll all get behind Rubio.

If neither runs, it's not looking good, and they'll run a sacrificial lamb to take the L
