American leadership is horrible. This entire debacle could have ended a week after the invasion if America would have allowed it.
Why is America so involved? Europe should be front and center in dealing with the Ukrainian war. Biden isn't making any of these decisions, the Obamanites in Biden's administration are running things and hide behind Biden, never having to answer for any of it.
Our entire federal government system is broken.

Or, directly target Ukraine senior leadership and dare the west to react.
Certainly a move I could support.

Biden voters of the board:
NONE OF THIS would have EVER happened under President Donald J. Trump.
During the Bush, Obama and Biden presidencies, Russia made moves on Crimea, Georgia and Ukraine. During the Trump Presidency, Russia did nothing. But go ahead and keep talking about how Trump is a "Russian asset" when he was the only president of the 21st century that stopped Russia dead in their tracks.
Go ahead, respond. Please. Try to argue against these cold hard facts. Olympic level mental gymnastics is fun to watch.
ETA: or just cast your downvotes because you have trouble processing irrefutable logic and facts. I opened the floor for rebuttal, you downvoted and rejected civil discourse. And this is why a "conversation" is impossible unless it's on your terms ond only you are allowed to speak.

Well, their little puppet money laundering piggybank was invaded and while the money laundering operation is important to them, what is more important is they cannot allow all of their secrets to be revealed... The tentacles run deep in Ukraine...

Everyone was trying to drag him into Syria and he said no. Everyone is trying to drag us into a shooting war with Russia. I think Trump could keep us out.
Permanent Washington want's a never ending conflict in Ukraine. They need to replace Afghanistan. This is one MASSIVE reason why permanent Washington hates Trump. They know Trump is a real risk to bringing Putin/Zelensky/NATO to the peace table and that infuriates them.

Maybe. The timing of this sure sucks with their current “military exercise” in Cuba, though.
Who knew Biden would bring back the Sixties?

Looks like it’s time for the mighty US to receive their regular bloody nose from another lesser opponent.

They could send a message if they wanted, i.e. an attack on one our puppet-states, a property that we claim might not exist, soldiers positioned in country we don't acknowledge, pipeline sabotage, undersea cable snips, disable a satellite, hack a power grid, hack a city, float a balloon over our bases, activate a cell of terrorists in our country where only DC gets the info about who they are, etc etc.
Not all attacks are as overt as a nuke on DC.

Isn’t that how one normally wins a ground war? Pound your enemy’ population into submission.

Because Kiev has chosen to fight from them. It’s much harder it take a city than a series of trenches. It maximizes their odds, or at least makes it more expensive for the Russians. And you’re not spending quite a bit of time and money to fortify these cities. It’s the cheap option for Ukraine.
The Ukrainians didn’t have to do that, when the Russians built their lines in the south, they built them in the fields away from developed areas. But they also have more resources and it’s much easier for them to do that. It also appears they’re planning for the long haul and trying to minimize the rebuilding costs, but they’re also clearly trying to minimize civilians deaths.
It’s certainly not in Ukraines interest to meet in the fields outside of Agincourt, and have a head on battle, and so they won’t, but when you choose to fight in urban areas, and they are picking the field of battle, you will destroy these places.

People die in war. Civilians die in war. No one should be surprised or feign indignation.

If Putin doesn't take the bait, it will not surprise me if an event is not fabricated....

I agree that these people are evil. Nuland, Kagan, Blinken… the list goes on. And I would describe them as cunning, they do the office politics in DC really well, but I think almost all of them are actually quite stupid. And that’s why their foreign policy continues to blow up in their faces, be it in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and now Ukraine.
