Lol wut? FD and EMS are the most over used services in history, they spend half the day making calls to nursing homes with Dr. and RN on staff
In St. Louis, they spend a good portion of their day administering Narcan.

I agree that cops should not be involved in school disciplinary issues.
Who should?
Teachers aren't allowed to touch a rowdy student in some states.
Parents are MIA.

While in the short term i will love this, I cannot see us positive traction coming back for them. And movements tend to spread, not shrink.
-good luck getting actual results from the person they actually have to call for a “non-criminal” call.
-what is the definition of a “non-criminal” call?
-a discipline problem at a school? Well the discipline problem will have broken the rules for a call to be made. Sounds really close to a criminal.
-homeless person crapping in the street...sounds like someone is breaking the law. Which sounds like a criminal.
-will there be police reports for auto accidents? I can tell you from experience, that insurance companies do not like to pay for repairs without a police report.
So basically this sounds like one big free for all. Ok. Are they going to decide to enforce vigilanty (sp?) laws?? Cause this is inevitably going to be the next step.

EMTs run way more trash calls than law enforcement does where I live. Just think about how many Medicaid users go to the emergency room at nights with snotty noses and coughs. Those people are also out there calling the ambulance, too.

What about traffic enforcement?
It’s their source of revenue. Doubt that goes away.

It (traffic enforcement) wouldn’t be “non-criminal.” That’s logically speaking, of course; no tellin’ how those loons in SF interpret it.

"San Francisco has made progress reforming our police department, but we know that we still have significant work to do," Breed said in a statement Thursday. "We know that a lack of equity in our society overall leads to a lot of the problems that police are being asked to solve. We are going to keep pushing for additional reforms and continue to find ways to reinvest in communities that have historically been underserved and harmed by systemic racism."
In other words, liberals still tilting at windmills

History says otherwise. When the criminal justice system leaves people to settle their own disputes without the alternate paths of enforced sets of rules, things often get out of hand.
In Middle Age England prior to the establishment of English common law, the murder rate was around 50/100,000. Once there was law and more moderate paths to resolve disputes via constables and courts, the homicide rate dropped to very low levels.
Anarchy at a low level is a very bad move.

People hardly bother to call the police when their car is broken into, and the police dont bother to respond.
They are just "pretending" to solve that issue with some social warriors.
When my car was broken into they said they weren't sending anyone and I had to fill out my own police report online.

quote:I live in California, please don't lump all of California in with San Francisco and Los Angeles. Stop at any city on Highway 99 between Bakersfield and Sacramento, it's mostly blue collar or agricultural jobs - you know -- normal people going to work, feeding their families, paying their bills, getting along with their neighbors. Not a bunch of spoiled brat limousine liberals with too much time and money on their hands.
They should just remove all of the police departments and allow California to revert to their liberal progressive utopia.
