We don’t want them investing a trillion dollars in the US economy. We want them purchasing a trillion dollars of US goods. Otherwise they just own all the profits from any growth in production we experience. And they’ll make sure to maintain those profits by cutting salaries, decreasing safety standards, and completely disregarding product quality in favor of making shite as cheaply as possible.
We need US citizens to own US companies, not to build an ownership class full of oversees elites.

Do you understand what the word investment means? It means they expect to generate future profits and get their money back and more from Americans.
It's not a donation.
You know what happens if they invest in the housing market for example? It means they would be buying up a bunch of housing and then selling/renting them to Americans. If they invest in some car company, it would mean they are looking for control and profits from that company.
So you would rather they own these companies than Americans?
