You think the machinations on the other side in this regard hinge on whoever is their titular Party Chair?

Who even knows or cares who that is?

quote: Instead Trump pushed for Ronna McDaniel This lie continues to be false no matter how many times people post it. Trump interview quote: When asked whether that means he favors her [Dillon] or McDaniel—the current chair whom Trump selected after his 2016 White House victory and backed again in her subsequent reelection as chair—he declined to pick a specific candidate. “I think they’re both good,” Trump said. “I like them both."

I followed that race VERY closely and ironically got the scoop from Charlie Kirk and Tyler Bowyer who are huge Trump guys. When Trump refused to endorse Dhillon even though McDaniel was on the ropes and instead gave his supporters the ok to vote for Ronna that was the end. DeSantis had endorsed Dhillon and the momentum had shifted but Trump killed it. Trump also saw an opening to give DeSantis an "L" since he had endorsed Dhillon. DeSantis' endorsement took balls to come out against the sitting Chair who was the favorite.

It was evident Trump cut a deal with Ronna that will likely pay off with favorable debate or primary scheduling at some point. Ronna was going down and Trump saved her because the RNC grifters would not have been able to vote Ronna if BOTH Trump and DeSantis came out for Dhillon, there was simply no way that would fly.

Trump is absolutely the reason Ronna won that race, he owns that shite.

Link? I don't tend to trust Reuters, and I have actual statements from Trump saying he isn't endorsing someone.

It would have been stupid for Trump to endorse someone in the RNC chair race.

Overall I think it's a good thing. But in terms of constituencies Republicans will have to maximize their core because in reality that is all they have. Democrats have multiple constituencies. Blacks in the inner city. Hispanics, Younger incels, etc.
Democrats have a harvesting infrastructure in place. They invented it plus the early vote phenomena....if you don't think its a tool to suppress election day vote you delude yourself.

Republicans should be setting up registration drives anywhere they think might be competitive. ID people in communities that might not get out like nursing homes and retirement. Get out to college campii even though they are liberal hotbed. Register set up harvesting gigs with Greek systems. Be at college football games.....etc.

Create a robust proactive organization. Knock on doors. Don't do it in places in the Deep South where Republicans own the legislature and the overall vote. Go to the suburbs of Pittsburgh and Philly. Go to Macomb County,MI. Phoenix area and the retirement communities out there. Hit up all the new neighborhoods in and around Vegas.

This Trump bullshite of huge rallies doesn't do shite to affect turnout where it matters. The suburbs are the battleground. The women driving in minivans and the Tahoe that their husbands bought them are who they should be targeting. Not the neckbeards and older people from the outlying smaller towns and quasi suburbs.

Ground game is so important

No I am smart enough not to "donate" to grifts

Trump keeps his money he gave none to down the ballots candidates that is why he got his butt kicked in 22.

Shouldn’t the Party, as a whole, be hard at work on this?

Republicans (apparently) don’t want to win. The nominee will have to lead. Interestingly Trump done virtually nothing the last two years on it. massive missed opportunity.

It’s not the Democrat candidates who have done this for them.

Unfortunately, Trump's pick Ronna Romney is completely low energy on this.

Do you think what the democrats do with this hinges on who their Party Chair is?

yep. Presumably Trump is getting g what he wants with her in charge? Or he’s terrible at judging people.

No, but I believe much of this emanates from the strategic vision at the top, and this is the biggest thematic change in American politics over the past 10 years. Ronna is a complete zero. Another example of Trump picking loyalty over effectiveness.

The democrats happen to have a massive advantage from a population density perspective. Doesn't mean Republicans should fight with one hand tied behind their back.

Don’t you think it’s a bit overly simplistic to think an individual like Rona Romney only exists in a Party “leadership” position because of Muh Trump and that, but for her, the Party would be all onboard in extensive vote harvesting infrastructure?

Maybe. But leadership matters. DeSantis sided with Dhillon for that reason. And I trust him on this, given his record in FL on the topic.
