So can we cancel all the tariffs put on our companies by other countries.
Also, what power does the SC have to rule on tariffs?

so basically it’s ok for other countries to rape us tariff wise but we cannot use tariffs to reciprocate and be used as negotiating measures without our useless congress’ direction….is that right?
Yes, that is correct. We have to follow the law.

You think they give a tiny little squirt of piss for what the Constitution says?
They are populists. They wipe their arse with the Constitution.

There are statutes the admin could clearly use. The question is why they took this risky route with aggressive interpretation when there are multiple options that would clearly grant the admin the authority
Yeah there were far far better statutes to use. They choose a route that was always going to lead to this.
Not sure, maybe because they knew how long it would take to get to this point, and then they could shift gears to a statute that works better

Tariffs are taxes. Congress has the power to tax and spend. Tariffs aren’t implemented at the whim of the executive branch.

... all of the power.

Nice to see someone finally stand up to a tyrant

Bad time to use that term
People correctly criticizing the admin's actions clearly don't just irrationally hate Trump.
Not only is the criticism rational, it was correct

I’m damn sick of workarounds.
That's funny, considering a "workaround" is what brought us to this ruling.

Don and the boys say they have a plan B ready to go. We shall see.
It appears they’ll have that opportunity. From CBS:

While the ruling restricts the president's ability to use IEEPA to set his sweeping duties, it does not prevent the president from imposing tariffs under different trade authorities.

They have the power to rule on the constitutionally authority of the President and Congress, and to interpret Acts passed by Congress, etc

I think there is oversight and reporting requirements of the standard tariff laws and this statute didn't have them....so cutting corners

I think it was a test to see how far he could push his power.

Because the Constitution delegates which branch can levy them.

It seems obvious to me that part of the strategy for Trump's administration this term was to push to expand executive powers/authority. I think that's why they did it this way.
And I think they always knew they'd probably lose, but tried it anyway "just in case."
That's why they have a "plan B ready to go."

No he can't. Those other paths are dictated by Congress and only last 90 days.
He can't slap 10% tariffs on Europe or Canada anymore overnight just because they hurt his feelings
He illegally used emergency powers to bypass Congress.

They seem to have made the ruling specific to IEEPA usage. Even the MSM is admitting there are other laws trump can claim for imposing tariffs.
While the media will play this up it does not appear to be a ruling that Trump cannot do tariffs, only that he can’t use IEEPA for it at this time.
