This story is about the case in federal court. What do hypotheticals about state charges have to do with anything?

Clearly he didn't declare all his income for example.

Millionaires don't declare income. His accountant and Mr Gates were responsible for declaring it for him. The real question is how much of the "paper trail" is tied to Gates? The juror did not mention that they looked into that aspect.
Gates was stealing millions, and Manafort did not know it. There clearly is reasonable doubt concerning how involved Manafort was in his finances and with setting up corporations. Gates seemed far more involved with the offshore corporations and setting them up than the trial exposed since Gate kept lying on the witness stand. Gates should have been toe one on trial with Manafort testifying against him.
What Muller did is outrageous. Pedestal also should have been convicted. Allowing these 2 guys to get immunity, just to convict Manafort was far worse than any crime committed by Manafort.
I did not realize that lying to get a bank loan was such a big deal. It is wrong, and should not be done.

11/12 jutors who sat in court for 100+ hours and actually saw all the evidence came to the conclusion of “guilt beyond all reasonable doubt.”

Some yahoo on the internet who did none of that? He says they were “clearly” wrong. OK

Trump can't pardon state charges.
This proves your ignorance.
You will need to expound on this one, because I have always understood the POTUS pardon power to be limited to federal offenses as well ... sort of CrimLaw 101.

Should Manafort or any other Trump loyalists face state-level charges, they could not be pardoned by President Trump, offering one possible avenue through which prosecutors can target aides without running afoul of the pardon power.

Targeting people, not crimes, was and is a hallmark of 3rd world banana republics everywhere.

May as well throw the hands up for ride down the rollercoaster.

Obviously we weren't privy to testimony and arguments, but the fact Manafort's team did not present a case is pretty damning. The did not get exoneration on a single count, nor did they come close. Yet they presented no case in Manafort's behalf? Seems like epic incompetence.

Tbh, this doesn't surprise me at all. It's nothing short of a miracle that he was convicted given the political implications. Considerable respect for the woman who was interviewed. She wore a MAGA hat to the trial every day and still found guilty. Shows how guilty the man is.

Seems like only last week that the forum consensus said that the OSC had the incompetent legal staff.

FTR, the above MAGA women voted to convict Manafort on all charges. This is not the lone holdout, that juror is currently unknown.

The above woman sat through the entire trial and stated she looks forward to voting for Trump in 2020.

You win “Dumbest Post of the Day.”

In the OJ case, the jurors in the criminal case came to the unanimous decision that the State failed to meet the (high) burden for a criminal conviction. So, “exactly the opposite of OJ,” Slick.

I don't doubt for a second that he was guilty on all charges. That's not the problem I have with this... it's that the ONLY reason whatsoever that he's on trial, convicted and what not is because he dared to work for Trump. They don't care one whit about Paul Manafort. They care only about trying to get Trump. And will ruin anyone they can in order to do so.

The point is that just because they saw all of the evidence doesn’t mean they will get it right, genius.
