That's nonsensical. If I was buying steel from a company that uses "illegal" subsidies, I now have to pay more for that steel. Of course prices went up; that's how tariffs apply pressure.
And FTR I'm fine with that for steel because I see it as a national security concern.

Mills making up for the lower prices last year. Sucks for the consumer that they increase prices every other week.
