My guess is that the Republicans didn't push for an actual indictment because then it would actually have teeth instead of just being all for show like all of their other committee hearings.

Wait, this is a contempt of Congress thing? Was this brought up on official charges, like an indictment by a grand jury, etc. Did a federal magistrate sign off on this?
