Dumb.

I'm surprised they haven't stopped using the word "woman" entirely.

Imagine sitting around and being offended about shite like this

So we're students clamoring for a change or did leaders just want to make a name for themselves or please the LGBT community

This is the kind of thing that happens when you are living in a time with the fewest ACTUAL problems in the history of human existence. We are having to invent "problems" to "fix" out of sheer boredom.

Clearly androphobic.

At least from an etymology standpoint freshman was an historically gendered term. Freshwoman was also used in the 1600s in reference to women... but still stupid.
Binary Gender categories are a legacy of white patriarchal colonialism.

what about junior and senior. Don't those terms connote maleness.
Posted on 6/10/21 at 4:09 pm to blueridgeTiger
Well I demand the term sophomore be changed.
It is not inclusive. It is derogatory. Sophomoric is used to describe someone who is not mature.
Junior is agest. Are third year students really junior to anyone?
Senior is agest. It makes them sound elderly and wise and they are neither.
While at it, first year student is not inclusive. If I'm in my second year and only have first year status I will feel bad.
The same could be said of second, third and fourth year students.
And just counting the number of years is derogatory because if my life path took 8 years to graduate, I shouldn't have to call myself an eighth year student.
Let's just call them college students.
But that is not inclusive to people not attending college...
Jeez this is problematic...
