In this decade they will start balking at having to stop to get gas 2-3x and spending more time than at charging stations.

The alleged racist Cracker Barrel has charging stations.

It's not as baffling when you realize that the government can and probably will rig the game against IC transportation. They can make it painful enough that a 30 minute stop to charge will be an acceptable trade-off.

The French did that with diesel.

They made gasoline cars more expensive than diesel ones. And so everyone bought diesels.

Ten years later, they decided that diesel soot was a major problem, so they increased the tax on diesel fuel, almost overnight.

The average Frenchman suddenly had a car he couldn’t afford to drive, but couldn’t sell either, because the value had just cratered.

That’s not how our brains work.

We value immediate savings over any potential long term gains.

They’re uncool, which is certainly a real marketing issue.

I don’t know how you solve that.

I can’t get my wife to put gas in the damn car as it is. You want to see a fight? Let me get in the car and the low battery light comes on and I’m 20-40min late waiting for it to charge.

You think so? I think their biggest marketing issue was starting off with a $90k car. I doubt most people realize that you can get a Tesla that competitive with an Accord, price-wise.

My wife’s daily driver is a 3 cylinder run about car that gets 45 miles plus to the gallon for her 8 mile commute. Her non work car is an Audi A5 PP that gets around 35 mpg but rarely gets driven. I took her Mitsubishi 3 cylinder and spent 25.00 driving about 700 miles round trip from East Tennessee to middle Ga last week.

I have a gen 1 Nissan XTERRA and a 94 2 door Tahoe that both average around 17mpg.

I refuse to drive electric or self driving. But I enjoy saving money on runs back to Ga.

It is pretty dumb but it's only because battery tech isn't quite there yet. They are working on solid state batteries right now that will have a much faster charging rate. A lot of money and research is going into solid state battery tech.

What baffles me is that you can plug in and charge your car at someone else’s expense. I was at a hotel and they had no coat charging stations.

I can tell you one thing, if I’m a marketing dude working for QT I’m already planning on my next expansion for my QT stores.....charging lounges that have gaming consoles, WiFi internet, etc.

Very dramatic. It takes like 20 mins for 80% charge.
Send a couple emails, make a phone call, text a friend, watch a Facebook video. It’s not a deal and may actually be a decent rest break for long trips.

Some people ^^^^ fail to see the full scope of what’s going to happen if the infrastructure for accommodating millions of electric cars is not in place before the electric cars are sold by the millions per year.....you’re likely going to be waiting for an available charging station......lol!

I would think they are super chargers that charge the battery up to 80% in about 30 minutes . These battery powered cars are not for long distance. We looked at as Tesla but it’s to pricey. They have some good things like acceleration and the electronics.

I do

I think cool really means masculine, if you think about it.

And Tesla’s, the Marlboro man isn’t driving a Tesla. Burt Reynolds isn’t driving a Tesla.

The future is that you can't taken long road trips unless you have an electric car, a vaccine passport, and a good "anti-White" social credit score.
