No, it hasn’t. Crime is up because our court system is broken. Restorative justice or whatever you are peddling is nonsense. I worked in a hardcore conservative prosecutor’s office in college and you’d be shocked how often felonies were bumped to misdemeanors (or dropped) because of backlog or shitty police work from being overworked.
“NIH for the win!” ……

What’s sad is the SCOTUS has held that you can’t sentence juveniles under 18 to life in prison. So these animals could get out in 20 years. They both need an express ticket to the electric chair.

Electric loveseat. At least let them go out on the buddy plan.

A decade ago, before the summer of love, I had actually bought into the notion of criminal justice reform. I thought we locked up too many people and that the system was overly punitive.
What a fool I was then.
You have to be exceptionally harsh and punitive with violent criminals or else you get the epidemic of violent crime we have now.

I was in Nigeria and left my wallet and phone on the table at a restaurant, I was telling my guide and he said, don’t worry it will still be there.
I go back and the table was cleaned and my wallet and phone was sitting where I left it.
1st offense, they cut your hand off. 2nd offense, they cut off the other one.

I have always said put them in an open cell 100 feet tall and 1000 feet long and drop them in and forget about them. No beds/ no luxuries / drop them in and let the thugs figure it out.
And make it in either West Texas in the heat or Freezing cold in North Dakota.
And never speak of criminals rights again.

The families of the victims need to start making the perps families pay in blood
We rely way too much on law enforcement

Since we’re a nation founded upon Christianity, what does the Bible say on this subject?

Prison is the punishment. Being removed from society and isolated from loved ones is the punishment. The brutality that often accompanies a prison sentence is inexcusable.

I think one of the Commandments is "Don't be a POS"...
If we're using your logic, then the onus is on the bad guys to stop being fkups.

Bible clearly states to obey the laws of the land and the wages of sin is death.
Their is pain and destruction attached to poor decisions and a life of stupidity.

I notice you haven't suggested a more effective alternative deterrent?

You don't live in the real world.
There are monsters out there that can't be reached.
Thanks to the ignorance of people like YOU, those monsters are all to often put back out on the streets to rape and murder innocent people.
Congrats on having blood on your hands, but at least your virtue-signal is complete.
