The founding fathers thought God should be mentioned in our society.
That’s why they mentioned him in the constitution so much and in their letters.
They only made the separation of state and religion because they didn’t want the official status of our government to be a theocracy

Given the current state of America, I would say the constitution is null and void. The courts have passed laws that are way out of bounds from being constitutional. The deep state has also perverted our constitutional republic, and now they are indoctrinateing children with all sorts of insane agendas in the school system. Get your head out of your arse. There are far more important things to worry about than the ten commandments.

Yes, they opposed the "Holy Roman Empire" which was run by the Catholic church. They were staunchly anti Catholic.

If we are being honest here, do you really want the state and the teachers union having a hand in teaching a Bible related curriculum? They’ve already bastardized other subjects. Why would this be any different?

They didn't want a Church of England equivalent in the USA.
They had no intention of preventing individual states' support of churches. Some did so well into the 1830s.
The modern concept of "separation of church and state" is ahistorical.

You know that the Bible was a staple in schools until the early 1900’s?
The founders did not believe that the government should be secular but that the federal government should not dictate what citizens must believe. State governments actually had state-sponsored religion baked into their constitutions, too.
