Clarifying your position - "mentioning a specific politician."
In reality this was more of an example in the context of challenges Christians face in political engagement, using POTUS as the example of compromises/human imperfection. Can't say I have any objection to it or view it as taking a particularized position/stance on a politician.

I'm Methodist and our congregation is very conservative. We all can't wait to split from the national congregation.
Same here. Not preaching the Gospel is ultimately what is hurting the church. Woe to them who lead God's lamb's astray.

The problem I see with churches these days is that they are all about the production and not the message. I literally can not stand the modern contemporary church service. It feels like a rock concert where we're all going to stand up and wave our hands in the air for 10 minutes while we sing one verse or line over and over and over and over and over and over, Amen, and over once more for good measure.
Churches don't deliver the hard messages anymore, they are all about feel goods. They are too afraid of offending all of the helicopter parents, soccer moms and Karens.
The church has lost its way and people are leaving it because it wasn't providing them with anything valuable.

You think they'll advocate to end the only institutionalized racist program, affirmative action.

a couple thoughts
wiki def of racism is pretty much making decisions based on ones color. what will happen in the next generation when there is no color difference.
the woke def of racism is stereotyping is bad when it supports your ideas. but stereotyping is good when supporting liberal ideas.
the church has failed in supporting the 2100 years of moral structure that lead to the greatest nation on earth. when have you last heard of the Ten Commandments. bearing false witness used to be as serious as murder, now lying is considered inconsequentional

We're at a PCA right now, and it's refreshing.
Yeah, most of the Reformed denominations seem to be handling today's madness as they should. I don't know a whole lot about Jeff Durbin, but he has been a voice in the wilderness in this. The polar opposite of bowing down. He was also a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, so that helps.

Apologies for the blind link. I’m not sure how to rename a link.
When you paste the link and hit OK the system asks for a "Link Title" if you read closely. Otherwise it names it Link. Then you hit OK again.
