I’ve seen enough of people being blocked from getting to places of employment, blocked from accessing public areas, etc….not a larger police state, but one that protects the segment of society that works, pays taxes, and follows the rules

What these protesters were doing was impeding the flow of traffic which threatens public safety. What if your wife was in labor and you couldn't cross the bridge to get her to the hospital because protesters were blocking traffic?

Yes, the landscape is quite flat on the Ohio side which is why Cincinnati became a river port. Covington and Newport are situated on the much smaller flat area on the Kentucky side.
