This really was 3D Chess by Trump

A lot of people claim 3D Chess by Trump all the time but this really is a master move. Not sure what part little Marco played but strategically it is a win win move.
Getting control of Venezuelan oil before striking Iran took the only card Iran could play. This hurts China and eliminates the terrorist regimes of both Venezuela and Iran (or at least starts it).

I think it's time we stopped calling him 'little' Marco.
His physical stature may be on the short side, but his diplomatic and management stature is quite impressive.

Im curious to see how China responds. Our war with Japan started because we blockaded them from receiving oil.
I’m glad we took out the leaders of Venezuela and Iran but it will be very interesting to see how China responds… especially if we start squeezing them on energy.

I just posted this in another thread:
really think a lot of this is about Taiwan.
Both Iran and Venezuela relied completely on China's military tech and both were defeated rather easily.
China has said that Taiwan is theirs. The US wants Taiwan to stay independent.
China is sitting watching what we are doing and having real hard discussions on what their capabilities really are.
Plus, breaking some of China's biggest partners and their supply of oil has to give them pause against any actions toward Taiwan.

He read a speech prepared for him. Think Witkoff and Kushner when it comes to private, behind the scenes, foreign policy engagement.

I’m a Venezuela settled?
I don’t even see headlines.
Have they transition to a solid government?

God help us if Kushner is running foreign policy!
I think Rubio is quite capable of speaking without prepared b.s.

Oh, he is a talker but he is definitely not a leader of men.

Ok then, he's a leader of.......what?!?! He's the Sec of State, not exactly a peon.

I think the Epstein files will surprise you. It’s mentioned in there multiple times the Kushner family supersedes the government

Wow, you and Django posting something thoughtful one after the other, not what I am used to seeing on the Politics forum.
Whilst the meth heads think those of us who form our own opinions are totally opposed to bombing other countries on purely political grounds, for me at least the concern is DJT's short attention span and now he has stirred up a hornet's nest that isn't going to die down just because he falls asleep in the next meeting of the Security Council.
There is going to be fallout from this one. The immediate affect we are already seeing are higher oil prices worldwide. It won't just be China that feels this and for their part they can turn to getting oil from Russia on the cheap since the Russians have been effectively embargoed from shipping it anywhere else.
Other effects we've also experienced, the shooting in Austin is one and none of us know if there are going to be more acts like that on our soil.
As for Iran, they have escalated things firing off missiles at anything within reach, the U.S. navy at Bahrain, Saudi oil facilities, tankers trying to get through the Straits of Hormuz and an unprecedented attack on hotels in Dubai. In other words, they are mad as hell and going to make sure their neighbors get a taste.
Hezbollah in Lebanon has fired missiles into northern Israel starting up all of that mess again.
Terrorist attacks in Europe will almost certainly follow.
It may not devolve into World War III but for everyone who dies as a result the effect will be the same.
All of this just to deflect everyone's attention from the Epstein files.
Have a nice day.
