As we speak the fraud doctor who tried to help the nutcase mom in Texas take her son away from the dad so she could start chemical castration as soon as possible is being funded by the NIH to manufacture research so that next time she’s successful in court in taking a child away from a parent to be sexually abused and chemically castrated.

Seriously, though, this issue got hot fast because both mainstream sides of the issue have in common that they both want this issue to make headlines for their own political agendas. Usually one side wants to talk about an issue, and the other side not so much.
Trans advocates want us talking about trans issues so as to normalize trans people.
Trans opponents want us talking about trans people because they’re freaked out that not everybody is freaked out.

I agree this plays a part.
I think what also plays a part is that it is lumped with LGB issues and then those issues are lumped with black issues and those are lumped with minority issues and those are lumped with women issues and those are lumped with class envy issues.
And if you question any of the intersectionality identity politics BS you are not a progressive democrat and are labeled a bigot.

When pop culture makes people think that not being the sex you were born as is cool, suddenly there are thousands more mentally ill people.
When instagram makes it popular to look like you are permanently swollen in the face from being stung by bees, suddenly packs of morons flock to get collagen lip injections.
When fashion icons push androgyny, suddenly an entire generation of males become more entranced with tossing salad than appreciating gender-exclusive body parts.
A lot of people are more concerned about being part of the popular trend than anything else. They just blindly follow along to what Hollywood and popular culture tell them is the hip thing.

Honestly, the whole transgender push seems like nothing more than liberals trying to throw mud in the eyes of religious conservatives.
Unless you're in some sort of organization around trannies, literally no one knows even a handful of trannies themselves Most people don't know ANY trannies.
So, it's just a giant frick you and very little more because it's something they can do where they basically know that there is a VERY LOW statistical likelihood they will every be affected personally by the silliness.

Um, I agree but it's not the right's fault that the LGB movement added them to their alphabet soup.
Gay men are still men. Lesbian women are still women. Trannies are just people with a mental illness. Gays insult themselves by pulling these nuts into their tent.

You dont know how good of a question this is. I saw a video speech of a doctor that discussed this very issue and the politics of it. The short answer is Obamacare.
It seems that the Progs got entrenched in the Endocrinology medical association and the DHS when Obamacare was rolled out. By no approved scientific method the two groups got transgenderism changed to a Dysphoria from a mental illness or something akin to that. The critical point here is that in old insurance system it was not a covered condition and in the new Obamacare it is because of the elevation in classification. Now enter the Endocrinology association that developed the trannie treatment protocols that now included minor pre-pubescent children (which were never considered before) and passed the protocols by a board of directors vote rather than a member vote. This meant that like 30 people made this decision for group that had about 3000 members. Furthermore if anyone denounced or disagreed with the protocols they were blacklisted and potentially stripped of their credentials for being bigoted.
Prior to all this the transgender treatment was a minor segment of the medical treatment field that could hardly have more than a minor decimal place percentage of patients seen by mental health or endocrinologists.
I will continue to look for the videos I am referencing.

The same way everything else explodes these days, social media. There are only about 700k transgenders in a population of 330 million people in the US.
However, because we are so interconnected, every story about a trans gets spread around the country at the speed of light so it seems like there are a lot of them.
I’ve met one in my entire life, a 41-year-old minister who fathered four children before he decided that he had to change his genitalia. I’ll never understand how so many of them can commit to fatherhood and marriage and then throw all that away to become women, and ugly women at that. The minister I met looked like a linebacker in a skirt.
