r/Catholicism Redditors aren't pro-Trump (they're pretty neutral), they crapping on this pick because it's awful.
Word also is that Francis was thinking of appointing McElroy to Boston, which would be like the fox guarding the henhouse.

Interesting to watch the left applaud this when they love to scream separation of church and state.

That’s why I didn’t put it in the title of the thread.

r/Catholicism is "conservative" in a sense that most follow Catholic doctrines which is the opposite of most redditors practices...however, if you want a truly ultra conservative subreddit for Catholicism...go to r/TraditionalCatholics
that place shits all over r/Catholicism when it comes to conservatism.

Reports highlight that McElroy has been implicated in covering up sexual abuse cases
If true, he should be immediately be defrocked, along with all the others who did this and yet call themselves clergy.

You will get plenty of down votes, but keep on keeping on! Roman Catholicism is satanic.

Protestant distinctives were totally absent from church history for a literal 1.5 millennia after Pentacost, and what orthodox beliefs they do hold
Hmm, I wonder what could have caused this?

Hypocritical coming from someone who had a massive 30-40 foot brick wall surrounding the Vatican to keep the illegals and deplorables out of his city. When the pope tears down that wall , then he can lecture us on how to treat illegal immigrants.

Who cares? Trump isn’t Catholic.

Smh you guys
Maybe if you shook your head at the negatives your pope and your church does, there wouldn't be a reason for others to call it out.
Apparently to some of you your pope and church can do no wrong, and why it has led to having such a negative reputation.

Catholic's do not claim that Popes and The Church can do no wrong. But it's structure limits the wrong and codifies the correct.
It has a bad reputation from pestilent Protestant's in the south that ignore the schism, divorce, and sexual deviation that their own denominations have in the them because they can just switch willy nilly to another church, ignoring any theology at all (non-denoms) or not even knowing what their denominations believe, and just pointing to the big bad Catholic Church. The same Church you get all Christology and most Hermeneutics from, and agree with 95% of the Dogmas because the Catholic Church is the baseline for all Christianity, and still is the greatest force for good on the planet.

You really do have a false sense of importance. The Catholic Church is no longer looked at the way you describe/believe, and has nothing to do with anyone by the Catholic Church. When pointing that finger, don't forget the 3 looking back.
Christiandom as a whole has it's issues. One thing Im pretty confident of is that the Catholic Church isn't fixing those issues.
