An entire generation (or two) has been convinced by the Left that their economic prospects are uniquely bleak, that they don't have the same opportunities generations before them had. It's nonsense. Life in the US has never been better and easier than it is today.

It is not a left wing thing. It is very difficult for young people to be independent and get ahead. Much more difficult than the previous generations had it.

It’s funny to watch people simultaneously say that mass deportation should be supported because it lowers home prices and then say that rising home prices are a good thing for America

It's a good thing for many Americans. Responsible Americans. Don't mix up the terminology.

And deporting illegals will lower them.

So the "it's too expensive!!!" People should be happy and for deportations. I'll be ok if it stabilizes. I've seen a huge equity boost as it is since I bought at the best time in a generation.

But I'm not gonna fuss if it goes up.

Dude. Cost of living has far outpaced wages from prior generations. This isn't even debatable. It's not a "left wing" thing. It's a fact.

So you were lucky. That's all it was. Luck. Quit acting like you did something special.

Isn’t your argument that it’s difficult?

Most people on this board were born into an easy mode economy and aren’t smart enough to contextualize their circumstances vs the ones of the modern day

Yes. It's more difficult now if you weren't in your home buying years when other very lucky (not more skilled, not harding working, simply lucky) were.

Homes sell everyday. People are buying, the circumstances now are still better than what most had before you.

Nah. I got out of college right when the housing market crashed and jobs were nearly impossible to find. Anyone starting to work now has it far easier than I did.

It's a ridiculous argument. You can get a mortgage with 3% down as a first-time homebuyer. For a $400,000 house, that would be $12,000 down. If people can't even save up $12,000 for a downpayment, are we sure they should own a home? That is not a lot of money by any stretch of the imagination.

Most of them can’t afford shite but they still live like they can. The guy complaining is typing away on a $2k phone or computer and spends a lot of time on here. But yeah let’s blame those who have equity and Trump. Trump btw who just released a savings plan for the next generations that would be a tremendous start.

I'm extremely jealous of these plans and wish they had been around when we were having kids. These folks have no idea how much of a boon that is.

It's not a lot of money for a down payment.

But that doesn't mean someone could afford that home. If you made 100K a year and had zero other debt obligations that payment would really stretch your budget.
