I conceal carry my sig compact as well and my gf keeps a revolver in her purse. I do believe if we had a culture more accepting of open carry though it would serve as an ever further deterrent

One of my crazy dictator ideas (alongside legalized dueling) is MANDATORY open carry while banning all concealed carry. EVERYONE OVER 18 MUST BE ARMED AT ALL TIMES WITH THEIR GUNS SHOWING. Oh, and everyone knows that you can be challenged to a duel, and face zero legal consequences if they win.

Good. There shouldn’t be any restrictions for concealed carry, including schools and churches.

One obvious problem is that many of these young thugs involved in shootings, using guns, killing people, that is all they know. Once they come to realize that citizens will now be shooting back, over time, they'll change their attitude re not-giving-a-shite. Nothing to do with cash bail, getting released fast & furious, you'll be shot dead in return.
