In the 70s they had a gas shortage and used even/odd license plate numbers to limit fueling days.
Why can’t we do the same here? If your ssn is even you fly one day, odds go the next.
I’d be even btw.

have fun telling that to people who have already took off work, reserved a hotel, planned an itinerary, etc. that they got to fly a different day. Also have fun splitting up couples and families based on their ssn.

Or you know…. Have half of congress quit being cry baby bitches and agree to fund the workers/DHS.

Better idea. Reassign IRS agents to work the TSA jobs. IcE agents have better stuff to do.

I have a better idea.
Pay people for the hours they are working.

Or we privatize it and it works better

Or, Congress has to stay continually in session with no pay until they reopen the government.

That’s a good answer. During a shutdown they shouldn’t be allowed home and if they do fly home on the weekend strip all bullshite they get like skipping to the front. Force their asses to stand in line with their constituents. Honestly they shouldn’t ever get to skip lines they can get precheck.
Also no paying their sex slush fund during a shut down. You do that and they will never
Shut down again

Close Reagan, Dulles, and Baltimore airports to commercial flights so congressional members would have to figure out other travel arrangements
TSA would be back in no time

So if a wife is even and a husband is odd they can't fly together?

Or if people wouldn’t show up at 4am for a 9am flight because the media has them in a panic. What happens is there needs to be a balanced flow. People showing up earlier than needed adds strain to a system that can only push a certain number through the machines. This leads to backups and the media saying arrive even earlier. It is circular.

Just cut everything by 5 to 15% instead, especially Congressional salaries. No reason why hardworking taxpayers who rely on this infrastructure for work should have to suffer more than any other group of people. But once again, American workers are always shafted so the bums and elites can have easier lives than us.

Are you dumb, retarded, stupid, or all the above?

Flights may not be the same on consecutive days. Regardless, this would be impossible to pull off.

Go back to the way it was. Let airports control their own security.
911 happened because the cockpits didn't have locks and box cutters were snuck on. We don't need TSA to mitigate that.

In a way telling people to arrive even earlier just adds more strain to the system and just pushes the line earlier while not solving the line issue. You have only so many TSA agents and they can only process X amount of travelers in a given timeframe. It is a math problem. Lines at some airports like MSY have always been an issue. I had a flight on a Sunday morning that I missed because of a long line and that was 2 years ago. So some of this is not a current TSA funding problem.
Maybe airports need better coordination with airlines so they don’t all have flights at the same time and plan TSA times in the cue.

Transfer all TSA agents to ICE. I think it's funded till 2028. Yes, it wouldn't shorten that timeline but TSA would return to work w pay immediately.
