No, I think only the kids of people who voted for Biden should be sent over there to fight. It's his weakness that enabled Russia to do this so let them clean up his mess.

Young straight white Christian males need to stay far away from the military. You want to serve your country? Learn a productive necessary trade, be the best you can be at it, find a good woman and make a lot of clones of yourself and raise them with your beliefs. That’s how you strengthen and defend the homeland.

I would agree if the four years was for non-combat stateside activities. Like national guard going to help during disasters and such. Kids could learn about discipline, respect, and how to take care of themselves. Then after that they could have a option of fully joining.

Drill Sergeants don't want any part of that.
Even with having an all volunteer force today you still get 3 or 4 who don't want to be there . They change their minds and try to leave the base. Part of my job was to go and find them, track them down.

I enlisted into the army during my senior year in high school. I took my oath at the Custom House in New Orleans in December of 1973. 2 weeks after graduation in May of 1974, I was at Ft. Polk for basic training.
I pulled KP twice while in basic, as did most of my fellow trainees. Wish you were right about no longer having to pull KP but I call bullshite on that statement.

Joe Biden was a draft dodger, as was Bernie Sanders! And yes, Donald Trump also received several deferrments to aid him in avoiding the draft.
Still can't, for the life of me, understand why our clown-show government is kicking soldiers out for refusing a vaccine, while we face uncertain threats.
I wouldn't want to serve under Joe Biden, our present Commander-In-Thief!
