My only grip is that we've had 8-9 days to prepare. We saw the "revolution" was serious 8 days ago.

But, what do I know? nothing

And that's a legitimate gripe.

We moved 8 fuel tankers from Pearl Harbor earlier today. I just don’t believe Trump is moving all this asset build up for the lulz.

I could see it taking another 24 hours though (most likely) or even 48. I don’t think it’s coming tonight.

They are going to wait for the USS Abraham Lincoln to arrive from the South China Sea.

How long is this expected to take?

What exactly is he acting on that is affecting Americans? Or is he meddling in the Middle East like every other president his age has done for 30 years and wasting our tax money?

I'm not necessarily against this strike - although it's entirely unclear what it would meaningfully accomplish at present. But the obsession with which purported conservatives crave intervention even to the point of guilt-tripping their own countrymen about something we have nothing to do with on such things is just insane to witness.

If they wait for the carrier group it could potentially be something more prolonged. Or at least wanting to be able to.

I just worry by the time all assets are in place the protesters lose faith and give up allowing the regime to take back control

I’m shocked they’ve been so resilient to this point but how long will they hold out before they think no help is coming?

At minimum we should do something even if it’s a token strike to let them know we aren’t leaving them high and dry

The revolt will be crushed by the time they get the carrier there. I don’t believe the protestors can survive a week against the security forced. The regime will be able to slaughter thousands before any help arrives. That really sucks CO’s and is hard to sit by and watch.

I’m going to assume this carrier group has been on the way for a minute now. It would seem pretty stupid to start moving assets into the regions a week or so ago and not begin moving the carrier group also.

No modern government has been able to kill that many citizens and survive. The ChiComs survived Square but that was only about 3500 people. The regime is done. It’s just a matter of when. Also a matter of a semi-smooth transition or descent into decade long civil war.

Yup. The dye is cast. It will suck if they have to endear another 7 days or more of this though

Same spoon fed lines to Americans as Iraq, Syria, etc.. take the dictator out and people will be “free.”

It really is after we spent 20 years in Iraq/Afghanistan with no accomplishments.
