Recovery is easy; finding something that small can be close to impossible. I'd guess a carrier-based plane has some sort of pinger we can home in on, but finding something like an enemy missile that isn't broadcasting is very, very difficult.

Ahh.

Two miles deep we go for jet, yet let's leave billions of weaponry behind in Afghanistan.

Totally checks out.

See "Azorian K-129" to see how we pulled a Russian sub from the 16,000 feet deep in 1974. No spoilers on how it played out.

Are we not to spoil the official story or what likely happened? Big difference, no way do we publicly tell the true story about recovering a Soviet boomer. Hell, until a few years ago when some docs were de-classified, it was still known as Project Jennifer.

Blew off the deck of a carrier during a sudden storm in the Med about a month ago.

You'd think that a carrier with 5,000 people on it would have one dad that could work a ratchet strap and do the old "That's not going anywhere" thing at the end.

Think about that. We recovered that thing from underneath almost TWO MILES of water.
Oil and Gas baws have put and picked up heavier stuff that deep.

Wasn’t that the one where the cover story was that they were prospecting for “manganese nodules”?

And how many more taxpayer dollars did that cost?

I have to be honest, I don't mind spending it on recovering one of our aircraft. It beats the hell out of sending it to some corrupt shithole to be laundered and sent back to those greedy assholes in DC.

Although the recovery was probably some brother in law deal to a pol.....

Was this the one where the salvage ship was the Glomar Explorer, built by Howard Hughes and later owned by Anadarko?

Yes. Glomar was finally scrapped just a few years ago after being a drilling ship for many years then mothballed for many more. To the poster above, yes, the cover story was prospecting for manganese nodules on the ocean floor.

Although, I am curious what real benefit a country like China or Russia could have gotten from a previous generation plant that had sat in saltwater under crushing pressure for a month.

The frame may be old, but who knows what internal features it has which are newer (and which the public may not know about).

Plus, its catalytic converters are worth a pretty penny at your local chop sop

HRC allegedly sold out our spies in the CCP thanks to her server. And don't forget Seal Team 6 shot out of the sky when no one was supposed to know where they were.

These Dems have been traitorous for a long time. All for personal wealth while the US people suffer. The hell with those people.
