He knowingly did it. He said he knew when he said it and "regretted it" after, but let those comments stand, without correction, for days.

Is it too hard for coaches and players to say something like‘I can’t keep up with current events during the season because I am spending time preparing for the next game’?
Not sure why any teams PR team doesn’t instruct that response. Yes it’s a vanilla and BS answer but it avoids this type of stuff.

Agree. Criticism for faults requires credit for acknowledgement of them. I dont care for the guy but he seemed sincere here. Of course, it did take someone calling him out to do so. So not too much credit.
