Yes. Megadeth also. Dance in the Rain.

James leans libertarian. As a SF native he saw the insanity first-hand.
Lars is an idiot, likely a lib.

As a lifelong rasslin'fan and a big Metallica fan, I've always been intrigued by the shirt Hetfield's wearing in this clip.
Metallica has a song titled "The Four Horsemen" on their first album, and the logo on this shirt strongly resembles the one used by Ric Flair and company in the late 80s.
Did the rasslin' folks cop this design for their own use, or vice versa?

J6 sham trials/ indefinite detentions, Multiple bullshite impeachments, FBI raiding home of Trump...
quote:
...And Justice for All Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Halls of justice painted green, money talking
Power wolves beset your door, hear them stalking
Soon you'll please their appetite they devour
Hammer of justice crushes you, overpower
[Pre-Chorus]
The ultimate in vanity
Exploiting their supremacy
I can't believe the things you say
I can't believe, I can't believe the price
You pay
[Chorus]
Nothing can save you
Justice is lost, justice is raped, justice is gone
Pulling your strings, justice is done
Seeking no truth, winning is all
Find it so grim, so true, so real
[Verse 2]
Apathy their stepping stone, so unfeeling
Hidden deep animosity, so deceiving
Through your eyes their light burns, hoping to find
Inquisition sinking you with prying minds
[Verse 3]
Lady justice has been raped, truth assassin
Rolls of red tape seal your lips, now you're done in
Their money tips her scales again, make your deal
Just what is truth? I cannot tell, cannot feel
[Outro]
Seeking no truth, winning is all
Find it so grim, so true, so real
quote:
Eye of the Beholder Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Do you see what I see? Truth is an offense
You silence for your confidence
Do you hear what I hear? Doors are slamming shut
Limit your imagination, keep you where they must
Do you feel what I feel? Bittering distress
Who decides what you express?
Do you take what I take? Endurance is the word
Moving back instead of forward seems to me absurd
[Pre-Chorus]
Doesn't matter what you see
Or intuit what you read
You can do it your own way
If it's done just how I say
[Chorus]
Independence limited
Freedom of choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech is words that they will bend
Freedom with their exception
[Verse 2]
Do you fear what I fear? Living properly
Truths to you are lies to me
Do you choose what I choose? More alternatives
Energy derives from both the plus and negative
Do you need what I need? Boundaries overthrown
Look inside, to each his own
Do you trust what I trust? Me, myself and I
Penetrate the smoke screen, I see through the selfish lie
[Pre-Chorus]
Doesn't matter what you see
Or intuit what you read
You can do it your own way
If it's done just how I say
[Chorus]
Independence limited
Freedom of choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech is words that they will bend
Freedom with their exception
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 3]
Do you know what I know? Your money and your wealth
You silence just to hear yourself
Do you want what I want? Desire not a thing
I hunger after independence, lengthen freedom's ring
[Pre-Chorus]
Doesn't matter what you see
Or intuit what you read
You can do it your own way
If it's done just how I say
[Chorus]
Independence limited
Freedom of choice is made for you, my friend
Freedom of speech is words that they will bend
Freedom no longer frees you
[Outro]
Doesn't matter what you see
Or intuit what you read
You can do it your own way
If it's done just how I say

Nah, they're from the Bay Area.
James is from Downey in LA county. My wife did a travel assignment at the hospital in Downey that he was born at.
Downey has gone downhill in the past several years. My wife left that hospital after 13 weeks and went to a different one in Torrance.

That's where he was born, but Metallica basically became a SF band not long after formation and James called SF home for decades before it completely devolved.

Listen to the "And Justice for All" album. Particularly the title track, and "Eye of the Beholder".
James Hetfield saw, in 1988, what many of us are only seeing now. I grew up jamming that stuff on guitar but it was a couple decades later before I realized the profundity of the message. The entire album has an underlying political/societal feel.

Metallica started in LA. They moved to San Fran because they wanted Cliff Burton in the band and that was the only way he’d join.
Also James leans conservative, Lars is definitely the artsy liberal, Kirk lives in Hawaii and probably has the most successful business ventures outside of Metallica and Rob probably leans very hard left considering the fact that his wife does.

I’ve always found James Hetfield weirdly hot. It’s great to know we also agree on politics.

Yeah I was 13 when it came out. I wore that cassette tape out and had to buy another.

According to an extremist sure
Not much different than the Trump cult here
Half of them will throw stones at you and accuse you of being a democratic plant if you even mention anything good about Desantis
Extremists are dumb. I don't know what to tell you

If you like country music,
Country's roots are pretty deep in folk, which is traditionally pro-labor. Plus feminist country has been a huge part of the genre forever (Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Reba, Emmylou Harris). Hank Sr had some fairly progressive moments (The Funeral humanizing black life in the 50s), Steve Earle, John Prine both progressive. Willie, obviously. Edit: that's not even getting into modern country which is predominantly left-leaning (outside of pop-country which I don't really know much about, but its basically Hick-Hop so I dunno)

If it's tied to politics, certainly.

Yall really underestimate how many people on the left own guns. Hell, the SRA has been growing a good bit.

Almost definitely.

Speaking of classic albumn covers most don’t realize this is a guitar

I was recently told by a liberal that Metallica early stuff is left wing and the left claims them. I don't know the truth, just passing along.
