DC is the only place where Trump can/should be allowed to use Federal LEOs to enforce local law being it is the capital of the country.
I'm 100% against this happening anywhere else.

theyre not mad about crime so much. They are mad trump revoked their sanctuary status and will use this as a model going forward to revoke them for shitty crime filled 3rd world cities around the country. This is contingent on them doing a good job in DC though so its easy to sell to people and wont require much political capital.

Why would I respond to a dishonest question with a false premise trying to be clever as the theme?

It is going down, generally. I just owned somebody on this issue earlier this am (in another thread about Chicago).

And, naturally, now we learn that the crime stats were being manipulated.
Which crimes? What % impact? How does it affect the overall trend, locally and nationally?

This works in any city but DC. He can do this in DC, clearly.
That is not to say that some judge won't rule in their favor. I'm talking about once it goes up the chain

Crimes were going down somewhat due to the massive spike during the time after Saint Floyd of Fent gained his wings and joined god in heaven.
As to how they were cooking the numbers paraphrasing the police union leader in DC
"When a felony happens a LT or CPT will show up to the scene and usually make the officer take the report of a lesser crime. Injured person to hospital and felony assault are what they have largely been using, especially the latter. Idk why this is the case but apparently those arent counted in the DC crime stats for violent events and neither are they a requirement of the FBIs reporting data.
Dont ask me why that is

quote:Why not? The people I know who live there say you can get it anywhere, anytime. Why not have a show of force in the areas where, if nowhere else, it shouldn't be acceptable to have to worry about being a victim.
I mean they don’t need personnel carriers or armed troops around the heavily trafficked tourist areas or in Georgetown (ridiculous).
You progs can kick and scream all you want, but this is a bad look for ya'll (as if it could get any worse). There are a lot of people in D.C. who disagree with my worldview on most things who are relieved with the immediate results.
Cope and seethe, but that 19% approval rating ain't getting any better when ya'll pull bullshite like this.

It’s fascinating how he can manipulate the Dems into being on the wrong side of every 80/20 issue in our country.
These people really are stupid.

Crime has dopped drastically, so it's working. Shut ur pie hole!

Or, the more likely culprit, Covid (and our societal response)
There was a post-Covid spike. But that started flipping at some point in 2023 and 2024 saw massive decreases that 2025 has enjoyed.
People only wanted to argue this wasn't true last year because Biden was in office and they wanted to make this a partisan issue.

That doesn't answer my questions.
This is a system of humans. There will be errors. That's why we try to use the biggest data sets to aggregate larger amounts of data to overcome these issues. Hence why my questions were focused on impact (locally and nationally).
Finding one error, or an example of fraud, even, doesn't invalidate the total dataset. That's the flaw in the rhetoric. These people are arguing dishonestly for partisan reason and using very bad "logic" to do so.

We don't have enough data to weigh this, either.
I imagine there will be an additional negative trend within the overall negative trend, but we don't know, as of yet, what that total impact will be.

He’s got them fighting for the wrong side of another 80-20 issue.
TDS is real. They will flat out oppose anything he supports.

I thought this was a good interview with Judge Jeanine Pirro regarding black teenage murders in DC. I guess Dems want this to continue.

It's really fascinating watching republicans turn into democrats just because a reality TV celebrity is the president.

Another 80/20 issue the Dems are on the wrong side of. Their only pushback is Trump is acting like a dictator.
