Then Trump shouldn't have promised US intervention like he did. He is certainly not the cause of this, their fricked regime is, but it was irresponsible to encourage the protests if the US wasn't prepared to act.
This was already discussed on here though, and I think most people tended to agree with this sentiment.

Can you link to him actually encouraging protests? Because I don't think that's what happened. They said that they are watching the protests carefully and if the regime begins shooting protestors that they would hit them back hard and where it hurts.
That is not the same thing as encouraging the protestors.

Ok. I stand corrected. But it's not as if he started the protests himself. I'll be pissed off if he doesn't come through on his promise to hit Iran for the killings. Those types of things aren't done overnight.

And nobody wants to hear this, nor do I really want to say it, but it probably bears being said. Iran has been a brutal state sponsor of terrorism for a long time now. 30,000 people killed is an obvious atrocity. But maybe in the long run this will be better for the people of Iran. Without assets in place he did the best he could to protect them, using words.
The riots were not planned in advance with our military so that we’d be in place when the regime started killing. But now our stuff is in place.
