Infection isn't inevitable. We have good prospects of a vaccine in about 6 months.

Because the possibility exists that grandma may be kept housed separately for a duration that will allow people like me to develop a vaccine.

So why even try to protect anyone, including grandma, if this will ultimately happen?

Appeal to an emotional response. Try again.

Okay so what is the point of trying to protect anyone from exposure though if it's inevitable

We should be opening things up and let individuals make their own decisions. I'm not sure why this is so hard for people to understand.

My daughter’s immune-compromised.

Wear a damn mask. It’s the pro-life thing to do

How do you get me virtue signaling out of that? The daily sanctimonious scolding of anyone wearing a mask is a bizarre reverse virtue signal by the right and thinking it is some prepping for mind control is insane conspiratorial thinking.

Give me a break. Have we elevated anyone else having common courtesy as noble virtue signaling now? You are the one acting like the virtue signaling wokescolds by wagging your finger at people. 2020 has really put everyone over the edge.

Tell her to stop driving because I'm scared she may one day at some point somewhere down the line accidentally kill me in a car accident.

First, you have my sympathy for the tough row you are hoeing.

That being said, I see this alot like the "no peanuts" rules in almost every school in this country. I am very sorry that some kids do not get to eat a yummy snack and that they may die if they do so.

At the same time, I see no reason that every child in this country should be denied a healthy and delicious meal, just to protect one kid in a few thousand. Teach your allergic kid not to eat the other kids' lunches.

In Covid-world, restricting the vast minority to protect a tiny minority is exactly the same thing. Those most susceptible to this disease should be protecting themselves ... NOT expecting everyone else to do it for them.

If you take your daughter to an LSU game this fall, will you demand that the other 80,000 wear masks?

That sucks but I shouldn’t have to wear a mask for your daughter. Stay at home if you have to but if not changing how I go about life to protect your daughter. That’s her job if she’s old enough and if not then it’s your job. Not mine.

How the hell would you ever know? How would you feel knowing you have almost certainly done something unknowingly like give a virus to someone in the past that killed them? You likely did this at some point and just didn't know it. That's life. We can't be afraid to live life.
