The 60s, they're left over hippies.
Bingo. These people were absolutely disgusting. Griped about everything, stayed stoned and refused to contribute, and had no idea of the concept of personal hygiene
I came along in the 70s and refused to interact with any of them
The Marxists created/infiltrated that generation and turned them into the loafers they still are today

Hippies were primarily born in the late 1930s to the 1940s, so as of 2025, they would typically be in their 80s. However, the values and lifestyle associated with hippies continue to influence younger generations, including some who identify as neo-hippies.
I was not talking about age of birth. I was talking about the people in their teens to 30 years old at the time of peak hippies. Vietnam and drugs brought a lot of that on.

They watch CNN all day and their kids ignore them so they are angry. They have nothing to do but be angry. Others did not save for retirement and are angry.
They are also easy prey for the people who pay protesters to sign up for a few hundred bucks.

They were brainwashed by American hating commies who infiltrated American academia in the 1960s and 1970s.

ALL those you see in the protests are lazy losers who have been failures their whole lives.
They blame their own weaknesses on the conservative government! It makes ZERO sense.

It's a lot of women my age, 63. They used to be conservative. We weren't hippies. We were little kids in the 60s. I graduated high school in the 80s. We wore preppy clothes. We loved Reagan.
Now, they don't like Trump. I think they can't handle his language or New York personality.
I don't get how many "Christians" are pro LGTBQ stuff. Then they fall for the separating families with the immigration issues.
My husband says it's people who make decisions with their heart vs their mind.
I was an engineer, and I'm not a real touchy/feely person. I've always been real law and order type of person.
One of my closest friends is crazy liberal now. We were bridesmaids in each other's weddings. The other day she posted on Facebook saying RFK and the CDC were not recommending the MMR vaccine. She was furious!
I pointed out that they are recommending separating the MMR vaccine and the chicken pox vaccine because studies are saying that is safer with regard to side effects.
She is an engineer with a masters and very, very smart.
I'm so glad I didn't move to Texas after living in California. Dallas is just as liberal as California. I love my Arkansas friends. The women are great here!

Idiots is correct. I am on the younger edge of boomer’s, but I loathe the hippy dipshits. They are some worthless folks who have never been successful at anything but whining and bitching. Their time is about to be over fortunately. Not a moment too soon.

They need the govt to aid their existence, much like their bottom feeder counterparts in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Chances are they never had stable employment at any point in their lives and therefore couldn’t fund their own retirement.

They’re old hippies with old hippie ideas. Our world never bought the idea of peace, love, and dope. They’re disillusioned and this geriatric activism gives them one last gasp of thinking their ideas matter.

I’m in my 70’s very conservative now, not so much in my 20’s and 30’s. Most of my fellow boomers are also conservative.

I can only speak for myself. I was born just after the group that I think is the problem. I would say those born from 1956 and younger came after the hippie, free love, drug culture. And too young to be sent to Viet Nam.
Drug use by those born prior to 1956 was completely new to the country. By this, I mean the types of drugs, heroin, LSD, PCP, speed, etc.. People were very ignorant of the danger posed by these drugs. And as a result drug use among this age group, the ones who fought in Viet Nam, was glorified in the beginning. I grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood in Houston. I knew three people on the street where I lived, whose lives were permanently affected by drug use. They were in the 1945-1955 age group and had not been to Viet Nam but drugs were so pervasive in that generation that they became users.
I was born after 1955 and saw these people I knew screwing up their lives and as a result became much more conservative and anti-drug. And with my peers this was a common response.
Because of this I think the baby boom generation really should be broken into two parts. Those from 1945-1955 and those from 1956-1964.
The 1945-1955 and a small number of those born in 1956 group who were sent to Viet Nam are the people who the OP is referring to.
I think one of the inputs into what made this group the way they are was the revelations about the reason we were in Viet Nam and the corruption surrounding those reasons. But these revelations, for the most part, came when the 1945-1956 group was in their 30's. The combination of the war, drugs and the corruption surrounding the war, I think, has had a permanent and lasting effect on that cohort.

Male voters aged 65+ voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2024 by the widest margin of any age group, 55% to 42%
#1 "elderly white population is filled with such…" this premise is all wrong to start off with. All the old people I know are happy muthafrickers. Hell, according to previous threads we have all the houses and all the money. I'm only slightly unhappy because my wife has and controls 95% of our money and 100% of the pussy.
#2 every entry above LSURussian is wrong. You sound like a bunch of melliniells trying to break down the second best generation. I'm happy and your weak attempt at making me feel bad has failed miserably.
#3 "prevailing opinions" are like assholes. Everybody got one and they all stink.
