Whatever you are I want no part of it and it’s clear you’re against Trump and his supporters. Your movement has failed to take off. Funny how you compare Trump and Bernie on tariffs when you “conservatives” and liberals have tds and discontent towards maga. You guys even use the same words and goals to undermine Trump and call it a failure.

They live in lala land. Just like that Roger guy who used to spam this board calling people populists as an insult. What a mentality deranged lunatic who would never do that to someone in public. It’s fascinating too how the ones most critical about Trump know very little outside of orange man bad , again another comparison to the far left.

Reason and CATO were both founded by the Koch brothers who are globalist libertarians. Meaning they want to import cheap labor and support global free trade. Many libertarians realize that libertarian values are excellent on a national basis. Only liberal morons who are not true libertarians or those who have significant interests in global corporations and benefit from selling abroad believe it’s good for the nation as a whole to adopt libertarian policies outside of our borders.

You should sit this one out

You're talking about the man that advocated for the forceful removal of Communist from societies.

One may say innumerable things and promote almost any idea under the sun, but naturally no one is permitted to advocate ideas contrary to the very covenant of preserving and protecting private property, such as democracy and communism. There can be no tolerance toward democrats and communists in a libertarian social order. They will have to be physically separated and removed from society.

Libertarians are basically conservatives and nobody listens to these places.

After reading this thread so far, there are some things that should be cleared up.

Libertarians are NOT in favor of open borders in the sense that anyone should be allowed to come over here illegally or whatever and just stay. That's like claiming you can't have a door on your house. Boundaries are there for a reason and it's the federal governments job to protect those borders from invaders.

Here's where you are getting confused.

Libertarians ARE in favor of legal immigration on the condition that they come here for the purpose of liberty and freedom. NOT for the purpose of coming here to be a leach on the welfare system(which shouldn't exist at all) and all this other bullshite that has been going on.

All these Chinese students for example Trump is bringing in - NOT cool. If they aren't coming here for the purpose of liberty and to assimilate, they are invaders. In this case, coming for an economic zone.

But if someone from anywhere in the world, from any culture, wants to come to American in the pursuit of liberty and to be free, and to understand what it means to be free, to be responsible and work for a living and to assimilate with the ideals of this country - those people are more than welcome to immigrate here IMO, and those are the ones who the borders are open too.

Of course, if you got rid of the drug war and the welfare system, you wouldn't have an immigration problem to start with because they wouldn't have any other reason to come here to start with than to work and so forth.

Libertarians by nature are no borders and free immigration.

Wrong, that's the party. By nature libertarians are opposed to immigration that can jeoparize freedom. So, communists and welfare junkies would be banned.

Populism is an inherently collectivist philosophy, which is why it always pulls to the left. It likes bigger government, as long as government is intervening to benefit "Us."

This is such a silly argument from "conservatives." Every time, it's the same thing. Any government intervention is "big government." Do you know the only thing stopping monopolies that raise prices against the "free market" forces always being championed?

As MAGA I want targeted government intervention to prevent the average person from simply being a sheep to the wolves of the rich and powerful. You're willing to let those with more access to the levers of power take advantage of you simply because of your "principles." That is insane.

We're asking for a level playing field, and you think you're being virtuous for fighting with one hand tied behind your back. You can watch the middle class shrinking before your eyes, and you're willing to let it wither to crony capitalism and corruption just so you can continue the illusion that your principles matter when others don't play by the same rules.

Many conservatives have fallen into the trap of idealism, but the world doesn't follow the rules they want.

There was a time not that long ago where the libertarian movement had a vibrant if not majority faction that had center-right to right wing views on illegal immigration. This faction has all but vanished. The 2 major libertarian institutions- reason.com and the CATO institute- are firmly on the left on illegal immigration. My hunch is that this is because so many ex libertarians have left the movement/party in the last decade, as the movement offers no defense/message against institutional wokeism, identity politics, etc. What is left is a movement populated by individuals who are either left(ish) or indifferent to cultural rot.

Libertarianism is a cool theory and idea when applied to a moral, rational, and productive population on a smaller scale.

When you scale out with the levels of diversity and newcomer foreigners, and emotional single women… it is an absolute useless philosophy that will never work.

Do you really think Abdullah Ahmad who just showed up yesterday from Afghanistan, who can’t speak English, and has been given free housing, food stamps, healthcare, and education for his 7 children and 3 wives, could care at all about this country’s founding principles?

With mass diversity, you have to throw all these cool concepts out the window, and everything simply becomes a race to secure the most resources for your people or tribe.

I also will never understand why we should care whether we have “illegal” immigration or legal immigration. I don’t really care if it’s technically legal or illegal. We have way too much immigration of any kind, and it simply all needs to stop for at least 5 or 10 years.

Milei is doing well in Argentina. Another " Milei type" politician just got elected in Chile. We will see how this goes in South America. Peru and Colombia have elections this year.

Classic libertarianism believes that you can have open borders OR elaborate social safety nets, i.e. freebies. You cannot have both or you end up like Europe.

But they're also a bunch of degenerates, which invites in a lot of left wing influence. So now, they're just different leftists, especially Reason.com.

You tried to explain something relatively complicated to people so set in their ways that it is impossible to change their minds.

It doesn’t work.

Tomorrow they will still say libertarians are nothing but leftists.
