Depends on the context if it's to defend some ridiculous point then i usually ignore as deflection. If it comes with good citations from credible sources then I'll usually read and research more.

I don't watch FNC, but I imagine our opinions would likely be somewhat similar.

Then that makes you the extremely dumb and easily influenced person. I'm guessing this is a dig referencing a recent reply that you didn't care for, but some people do need to do research before they comment on things. Others use it as an out so they won't have to defend their position. It can be an appropriate response and it can be a cop-out; it's situationally dependent.

Wow. That's the exact same thing I think every time I see a post of yours on this board.

Shouldn't you be out white knighting for pedophiles or something?

Dude is a sorry sack of shite that can't keep my name out of his mouth.

I never tell people to "do their research." I think that's dumb. I tell people what I think and if they don't buy it, they don't buy it. I just leave it there. Except, most often I see dumb fricks like this Mouton guy throwing insults instead of just disagreeing. Then it ends up a fight.

He's a delicate arse pussy that can't handle information he doesn't agree with without acting like an a-hole about it.

Most of the time is better than an appeal to authority.

"Do your research" is another way of saying you're not watching enough network propaganda.

I enjoy doing some research and seeing things for myself, but, the person asking me to do research would hopefully email all of the links to me.

The internet is wonderful. There is no longer any excuse for being ignorant on any topic.

Because most people who say “do your research” are conspiracy freaks who such out shite that fits the narrative they want to believe( vox dawg, boared) and blindly believe it without bothering to check the informations validity…

that's a stretch

More likely, they are tired of hearing you repeat obviously incorrect talking points and are giving you too much credit by thinking if did some research, you may see past the lies.

Great example. People like you appeal to authority in order to reach your desired opinion.

People like the OP references are fact based and come to a conclusion accordingly.

It's pretty easy to see which group is more intelligent.

What "facts" are you basing you conclusions on? Youtube videos? Twitter? Frankspeak? Most topics discussed in this thread cannot be proven or disproven youre, just chalking it up to whatever "source" you agree with
