um, exactly? that’s the entire problem with DEI.
without DEI, we could just assume these are the best and brightest…with it in place, you always have to question any non-white male on merit in any profession

Exactly. You can't have both preferential treatment and presumption of merit. It's why everyone, including these students, should challenge these programs.
